PGA tourney in my home town

cool. looks like the RBC is coming to Vancouver in 2011.

BC Golf News | Shaughnessy GC -- Site of 2011 RBC Canadian Open.

The third oldest national Open golf championship in the world, the RBC Canadian Open, is returning to Vancouver in 2011 in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club.

i've never been to a pro tournament, but i'm guessing it's like a Nascar event in regards that you can only see what's in front of you, not much else? is it possible to follow a player around the whole golf course?

Re: PGA tourney in my home town

As long as you don't follow Tiger, or maybe the lead group late Sunday, you can get good views.

There are plenty of cool places to sit and watch groups come through, and if you don't mind following a 'lesser' player. then you'll have great fun all day.

One word of advice - if you are going with a few friends, go to the 18th green as soon as the course opens on Sunday. Secure a spot in the grandstand, and go out by ones or twos to roam the course until the end of the round (or until they don't allow you to leave and come back anymore...)

Following the pros around is an AWESOME experience for a golfer. Worth every penny.

One of the reasons I'd love to see te Masters is that when you secure a spot with a chair, or a towel - whatever - no one messes with it. You can put a chair down next to the 18th green at 6:30am and come back 10 hours later to find it still there.

Try that at Bethpage...
