Bridgestone final round predictions...

I predict Harrington will crumble and Tiger will win.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

I don't think he will collapse as he certainly knows how to play & win under pressure. I think Tiger will make another charge & seize the win from him.

I predict Fisher will predict a Tiger win. And he's probably right.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

Harrington knows how to win under pressure. Tiger will have to beat him.

First tee, before the round: "Good to see you've changed your grip, Paddy. Play well today." Paddy snaphooks one and doubles to Tiger's birdie.

Second tee: "Damn it's hot out here. You must be dying, being from Northern Ireland." Paddy suddenly realizes how much he's sweating and makes another double to Tiger's birdie.

Third tee: "Are those shoes fitting okay? They look pretty tight. Listen, after the round I'll have my guy fit you for a set." Paddy realizes his feet hurt terribly and makes another double to Tiger's birdie.

Tiger wins.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

Well if past results are any indication, Paddy is one of the few tour players to go head-to-head with Tiger in the final round and beat him when paired with him.

They had a stat on the Golf Channel last night that said Paddy has split with Tiger when playing with him in the final round and is actually ahead of him in rounds played with Tiger overall. He doesn't seem to get rattled by the "Tiger presence".

I'd give him a 50-50 chance to beat Tiger.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

I will go for Harrington. Tiger hasn't shown the mental strength he used to have before, and I think Harrington is playing some wonderful golf. Unfortunately he got that bogey at the end yesterday, but he has some cushion to work with and if he plays a decent round, iger would have to make a 63 round or so to win.

It's great to see this kind of definition in a tournament, I won't miss it for anything!

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

On about 17, it's all tied up between TW and Harrington. TW's got the box. Just as he's coming down with his forwardswing, Paddy cuts the cheese at a volume equalling the one heard during last week's Sunday round. TW can't pull his famous "stop in the middle of the downswing" and puttzes the ball about 25 yards. Paddy begins to smile when Stevie grabs his club from his hands and breaks it over his knee. Stevie is, immediately removed from the course. Without a caddie, TW asks for a volunteer from the crowd. The ensuing stampede not only tramples to death women and children... but TW is overrun and his just repaired leg is hurt in the process. TW picks up his own bag and plays the last two holes in 5 over par. Harrington wins!!!

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

Harrington loves golf. Tiger loves winning. If Tiger starts closing the gap within the first 6 holes, Tiger wins. If it's within 1 stroke by the 14th, Tiger wins.

If Harrington can hold his 3 stroke lead through 9 holes...

I dunno. Tiger can explode at ANY time and go -4 through 4. I don't think Paddy has the firepower.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

Tiger looks like he kept the momentum and his swing looks good. I would like to see Paddy hold on for a close win.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

Tiger masterclass so far. I know it's obvious but he is a different player when he is sound off the tee.

Out in 30...sheeeesh.

I don't think Paddy has enough recent good days behind him to get a charge going.

BTW - how good do those greens look? wow

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

All tied now. Paddy is the only one who doesn't fold when playing with Tiger. We'll see how the swing holds up. Pretty ballsy to change after winning 3 majors in 9 starts with the cut only swing.

Wow That shot on 16 was insane. 182 with an 8 Iron over the water with about 10 foot of green to work with and stick it to 8 inches.

Re: Bridgestone final round predictions...

I once was told by Mc.... oh forget the details. I was told that if Tiger doesn't come from behind it's a choke as opposed to anyone else's choke being losing the lead. Is this just Tiger winning again or Paddy choking?
