Is there any interest in this at all? Being played on Sat and Sun at Merrion.

A local lad in our club just missed out selection on the GB&I team. Only one Irishman sadly, no Welsh and two Scots. Seven Englishmen! Hmmm, not exactly politically correct for a GB & I TEAM. Ok, I understand the desire to win the thing and I probably admit on the WAGRs the team picked itself. No major complains.

Anyway, not really clued up on US team. Any insights?

Well that was a big surprise, American tanked the GB&I team again. I think the governing bodies need to step up and make the decision to switch to a European team, similar to the Ryder Cup. The record speaks for itself. People just switch off. Unless the fields are evened up it might just fall off the golfing radar altogether.

Its a pity. Think of fomer Walker Cup players and you have a good chuck of the top 100 golfers in the world today, ex Auz and SA.
