Golfers you dislike for no reason?

Watching golf, I often find myself not really rooting "for" someone... but sort of against someone. I don't know why... but there are a number of players that I just don't like. When they play, I'm not sitting there saying "shank it! shank it!'. But if they are in contention, I'll almost always pull for the other guy... and for no good reason. To name a few...

Sean O'Hair - Dunno why... seems like a nice young man. Never "did" anything that I didn't approve of... just don't like him!

Tim Clark - Again... nothing personal I guess... but if he's in contention, I pull for the other guy.

Ryan Moore - Maybe it's the hat and beard? I dunno... don't like him!

Chad Campbell - Again... no reason to not like him... but I don't!


There are a few others. There really is no reason that I can give as to why I don't like these guys. It's not a I think they're an ******* thing like Monty or a crybaby thing like Sergio. I just always find myself rooting against them. Any of you have players that you can't stand for no good reason?

-Adam Scott: He's always been the "next thing bout to explode" but always plays awful

This topic is so on point for golf. There are so many guys that, yes, some of them I just don't root for for some reason. Great topic IMO. My hates....


Stewart Cink- I've just never liked him. No idea why. Maybe his chin. The British killed me this year.

Davis Love III- Maybe it's his crag-face or his beady, squinty eyes, but no idea why I actually dislike him.

Ryan Moore- As stated above because of the hat and beard. Though when he was hurt and had that funky swing, it was amazing to watch.

Boo Weekley- Well, at least I know why I don't like him. So maybe he's off-topic a bit.

Steven Ames- Probably the horse-teeth and smack-talking Tiger.

Robert Allenby- Most likely the shades. Then the YIPS. It's really hard to watch tremendous ball-strikers that can't putt.

Rory Sabatini- For everyone else in the world's reasons. Maybe off-topic again.

Chris Couch- Just how many times does a guy have to spit snoose on the greens during a tournament? Following his group, it must be just gross putting through snoose on every green. And his weird shortgame grip.

Chris Riley- Where'd he go?


I'm sure there are more, but I must not dislike them enough that they don't spring to mind.

I will sit and watch televised golf and vocally root against:

TW... Probably will be heralded as the greatest player of all time and, Man!, I hate to see him win!!
Monty... Don't know whether it was the Yonex clubs he carried for years or his attitude.
Sergio... Smart**s!!
Elkington... Ever since his hissy fit over the U.S. Open qualifier a few years ago, he can take his 'better than though' attitude and go pound sand.
JD... I can't feel sorry for someone who has had so many opportunities to get his life turned around. The less than professional demeanor has not been a compliment to the traditions of the game.
AK... Seems to have a lot of the cockieness of Sergio and the potential to turn into a Daly. Grow up!!!!

Vijay Singh - Maybe it goes back to what he said about Annika playing in a PGA Tour event as to why I can't stand him.

Colin Montgomerie - Never really have liked him.. might be his attitude most of the time.

John Daly - He actually might be more of a disappointment than anything. Sad to see someone with that much opportunity piss it away.

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them at the moment :-)

Monty- Can't put a finger on it, but i'd rather not watch golf than watch him.
Sergio- I'm undecided. I want to like him, but he always has to talk at press conferences. I like how hard he is on himself. I like that he is who he is whenever wherever, it just sucks that who he is tends to come of very immature.

That's about it. Otherwise I really like just watching peoples game.

Angel Cabrera- The guy is just creepy. Great golfer, long hitter.. Was nice in person, but while Tiger looks through you like your not there. Angel stares at you.
