Tiger and Phil picking up where they left off

Man, Tiger and Phil are going at it again down in Doral. Both are at the top of the leaderboard again picking up where they loft off last year when Tiger took Phil out. Looks like Tiger has changed his driver shaft again and is playing with one of those combo graphite/steel shafts (I think a TT Bi-Matrix) and was driving it a bit straighter than he has been.

Hopefully they can keep this up through the weekend and provide us with some top quality golf on the tube.

I wish the networks would work something out to show more early round coverage. When the guys you want to see tee off in the mornings, all you see are highlighs. It seems like they could do something.

Regardless, this weekend should be great theater. Tiger and Phil both at -10 now

-10 already? I guess the Blue Monster has lost some of its teeth. I can not wait to get home to see the highlights.

It's shaping up to be a pretty interesting leaderboard. Phil's bogey free thru 36. And the Villegas kid's got some game. Did you get a load of the way he reads his putts? It looks like something out of a yoga manual.

Should be some good coverage of Tiger and Phil today as they will be teeing off in the last groups. I would love to see them go head to head the whole weekend.

Phil sure had his problems, giving away two shots over the last three holes.

Tiger is an outstanding front-runner. He's looking good right now.

Weird day for Phil. He was not putting bad, he just could not get one to drop.

Tiger had his foot down on the accelertor until 9, cooled off for a few holes, then got hot, then cooled again. I am thinking that this one is his.

Villegas is one cut dude. Skinny as all can be, but muscles all over the place. He can really put a hurting on the ball for a "little guy".

The Beemer looks like he is a lot more comfortable out there. He is the only guy I recall taking a major away from Tiger, so hopefully his game has returned to him.

Well - the Blue Monster certainly showed some fangs to Villegas, Woods, and Mickelson on Saturday...Carlos Villegas. Man, he sure took a long time to finish that hole - should have been a bogie, as his third was a thing of beauty..

And why did Tiger get to place the ball next to that Banyan tree? I saw the first drop move forward. OK, he gets another drop. But the second drop looked fine to me. Must have been a bad camera angle.

Should be a great finish. I'll take Beem at 10-1 odds.

Yupper, the wind finally arrived on Saturday kicking up the score a bit at the Blue Monster. Thursday and Friday there was no wind and scores were insanely low.

From what I could see, both drops ended up closer to the hole than the drop point marked off with a tee. The second drop was close, but still ahead of the drop point.

Beemer looks like he is ready to strike, but its hard to go against the #1 player on the planet. I only wish that they would be paired together. According to the telecast yesterday, Woods will be paired with Chopra today in the final pairing. Phil is not out of yet either. A couple of rolls on a few putts would have put him in the lead yesterday.

Should be a great final round.

Phil's not doing well on Sundays this year.

Man, Tiger is looking like he's going to pick up another green jacket next month.

David Toms must be having nightmares about 3-jacking the green yesterday.

If Toms doesn't 3 putt the hole, I would think Tiger would have played the hole a bit differently. With a bogey to win, he played safe to the right and ended up in the bunkers where he took a conservative shot as he knew a 2 putt would win it. I think if Toms 2 putted, Tiger would have gone for the pin and probably would have shot a par or better, but I guess we will never know since Toms let him off the hook.

I would have to agree that Tiger is the odds on favorite at Augusta again this year. The scary thing is that he has not even looked like he is playing his best golf and has already won 3 tournements. Grand Slam this year?
