More on Wie's Exemptions

The sponsors must understand that the novelty has worn off, and inviting Wie might cause more harm than good. For all of her skills, she is starting to make a mockery of the process.

This is pretty much how I feel about it at this point. If she ever manages to qualify for a mens event I'll be a fan.

I'm in no way a fan a Michelle Wie playing in a men's event...but it is the sponsors choice and she does sell tickets and are country is run by the all mighty $$$$$

I think in part they are correct, before too long, it is going to do more harm than good.

I think her playing on the mens tours shows one fact, she cant hold her own with the boys (no puns here). She is good, but the boys are better. maybe someday she can, but we havent seen it yet, and may not ever. Annika is a quantum leap ahead of wie as golfer, and you dont see her trying to compete (and getting left in the dust) with men every week.
She does sell tickets, I like eye candy (tho she is way too young)but the sponsors have a better chance of me paying to see the hooters tour than to see wie

Didn't she take dead last in her last tourney in Switzerland? That had to steam someone like Jason Wagner from the Nationwide tour who at least has two victories under his belt this year. He probably could have done a little more with a sponsor's exemption than finish dead last. Then again - I don't know the guy but he may not be much by way of "eye candy".

There is the artform of perfect physical and mental execution in sport we call golf, and then there are the tours, which are entertainment. Wie is a better entertainer, Wagner is a better golfer. But the tour is there to entertain, so wie wins out.

The shame of the matter is the people who truly suffer are the ones who deserve to be there, like Wagner.

the way i see it is that Annika the best female golfer of this era tried it and couldnt make it.she quit it after 1 try.Wies tried so many times the novelty has worn off.

We cannot be the only people who see through the smoke! People are going to lose trust in the system if it keeps up for the sake of money. Like the BCS bowl system. That has become one of the biggest jokes in sport.

I heard an announcer say that she had a "Tiger-esque" following. How many of those followers were there because:

a) she is a 6' 1" 120 lb 17 year old
b) there to see her fail
c) too drunk or bored to have anything else to do

That's what I don't get. Paula Creamer is my favorite, and she is on cute girl(and I don't feel guilty because she is 18 and it is legal for me, I'm 20), and she has won...many times.

the reason Paula has won is she went about it the right way.played comp. at her level and learned how to finish.something Wie hasnt done and hasnt learned to do.
