Thread: Cobra Baffler Pro 21 degrees Fujikura Speeder shaft REGULAR!

  1. Cobra Baffler Pro 21 degrees Fujikura Speeder shaft REGULAR!

Well, I swapped out my Sonartec md for this puppy thanks to Manchester Golfer in a straight up swap. I was skeptical becasuse of the shaft but happy to put it throught its paces.

It's still early days but I've hit enough shots already to feel very comfortable with it in my hands. It's easy to hit, can shape shots, and it has a nice boring trajectory, even for a 21. It has a smallish head and the alignment is similar to the TMs.

The shaft performs well at this point, and I have yet to snap hook anything. I guess the Fuji shaft is slighter stiffer (firmer) than other mannfacturers. As per all hydrids you get away with murder on misshits. A misshit 3 iron goes about half the distance of a mishit hybrid.

Not sure if I will stay with it forever, it's no WunderKlub. I still want to try out the TM TP and the J33 models, but happy for now.

Thnaks MG, hope the md is working out for you.
Doctors say that you should eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to remain healthy. Last week I ate 5 mouldy plums and that night I shat the bed. What's healthy about that?:shocked::shocked:

Totally weird, but I have become interested in this same club in the past week or so...

As a result of the much lower/stronger lofts in my new irons (PW lofted at 44 degrees) I am putting a 4th wedge in my bag which puts me at 15 clubs...

So I am considering getting a Cobra Baffler 18 to replace both my Sonartec 19 and my TaylorMade RM 22. I figure I will be able to hit the ball about as far with my new 4 iron as I could with the Rescue Mid and will hit the Baffler 18 about as far as the Sonartec 19.

Please provide an update after you play a few rounds with it as I am considering a purchase...

I have toyed with the md for a long time. I carry a 2 iron which is golden off the tee (normally). The md was my poor lie fairway club, but had a tendency to hit low pull hooks than run for miles with it. I had to make exagerated "swing like an axeman" movements to get any left to right movement at all.

I wanted more loft (hence the 21) and more workability, both of which are better with the Baffler. It also feels quite nice in terms of hit / response. I'll continue my research and keep you updated.

Thanks...I have the same problem with my TM Rescue Mid- it is undeniably 'draw-biased' and I have a right-to-left game anyway...so this is a problem with this club. It is a fantastic recovery club though and as long as I can find a lower lofted hybrid with no draw bias and has good recovery properties, that is what I am seeking to replace both of these clubs...this is all predicated on me being able to hit the 4 iron well. In reality, it has the same loft as my old 3 iron, which I haven't had in my bag in three years. I cannot hit a 2 iron like you can...the low irons are a weakness of mine hence the love of a great hybrid....

    IG, Your more than welcome.

The MD I use for one shot a round, The 1st tee shot. It's a short par 4 that I always get into trouble with using a driver from the tee. The MD has gotten me away straight up the middle in the two comps I've used it in so far.

I have tried it from the deck/semi but I can't hit it any good, just low hook's as you described. I want an Adams Idea Pro with the VS Proto but £110 for a hybrid is too much for me.

May I humbly suggest that you get the Baffler with the Nippon steel shaft?
"Maybe he could sell it on Ebay, say it looks like the Virgin Mary, Sergei Fedorov, or Leno."
