Volvik Raiders Golf Ball

I found these while searching for Volvik (Korean) golf balls since Lyle said they are one of the biggest golf ball companies.

Okay, these are illegal balls. It says on the ball "30 yards longer". I just HAD to grab some of these to mess with my long ball hitting neighbor and sssmokin's minds. They are .062" smaller diameter, exceed the USGA weight limit and have a "too hot" core.

Sounded like I could really have some fun with these things when I played sssmokin (especially) so dropped the $22 for a dozen to give them a try.

NOTE: Would NEVER play these in league or normal play. If one of my league buddies picked it up and saw that "30 yards longer" on the ball I'd be humiliated for life! I'm not a cheater. (But I do like to have some fun).

BUT... when it comes to getting the edge on sssmokin (sibling rivalry thing) nothing is sacred!!

Conclusion: Don't waste your money. I hit the "legal" ProV1x 20 yards farther then this piece of cr*p!! I was so looking forward to the google eyed look on Byron and sssmokin's faces as I sailed by their drives and the joke was a total failure. :(

They must mean thirty yards farther than the distance you could run by the time the ball hits the ground =P

Hehehe... these smaller diameter balls that get "30... 50 yds. more distance!" have been around for years. Of course they are all non-complying but they still seem to sell them anyway. I have never heard of anyone who thought they actually delivered on the promise of more distance and most of the ones I've hit were rocks.

It reminds me of a line from the movie "Tommy Boy" where Chris Farley is trying to sell a guy brake pads:

(Buyer) "No. It doesn't have a guarantee on the box. My customers want a guarantee on the box".

(Tommy Boy): "Well I could take a dump in a box and slap a guarantee on it. Then what have you got? A guaranteed piece of shit!"
