  7. Good for you. Tell me what you gain by hitting your irons real long? I'm 60 years old and I hit my 7-iron 150 swinging easy. We'll see how you do when you grow up.... (JK)

Seriously. You hit a 9-iron to a green 150 yards away, I hit a 7-iron. We both land on the green. What have you gained? Only the ability to say you swing faster then I do. As long as you know your iron distances it's irrelavent what club you hit to get there. Matter of fact, if you hit your 9-iron or PW 150 yards you then need all kinds of wedges to fill the gaps. Try playing some of these 80 year old duffer club members who shoot around 40 for nine holes because they're deadly with their short game where the scoring is done.

LOL. That is obviously true for alot of people who hide behind the internet and their monitors.

And WBL you are mostly correct. If you and I both hit the green to the same amount of feet away from the pin with me hitting an 9 and you hitting a 7, then the number on the sole is irrelevant.

But the fact is that the higher the loft that you are hitting, the more likely one is to hit the green. More loft makes the ball go straighter. Think about it, would you rather hit a 4 iron or a 7 iron to a green? Obviously it would be the 7 iron. And why, because they are easier to hit and straighter.

Good point but you haven't seen how high I hit my 5-iron!! (and my Pings are easier to hit straight then Mizzies)

    And note:

I SAID "My Pings are easier to hit straight etc etc... "

I DIDN'T SAY "I hit my Pings straight".....

  14. Sumo2 update.

Had great luck with it in Kentucky but distance was all carry. I thought it was due to the wet conditions.

    WRONG!!!

This thing is straight but NO rollout on hard fairways. Must be higher spin or something. I hit my G2/BB Solutions combo good today and 30 yards past the Sumo2 (230 yards Sumo2 and 260 yards G2). Longer carry plus good rollout after landing. And Lyle was right. That Nike Diamana shaft is a whimpy piece of crap. It's going to get my TourSwing Avenger shaft in it. I'll hold on to it and make use of it in the early part of the year when I need the help straightening my drives out but I'm beyond that now (I hope)... Of course if a different shaft helps......
