FT-i tour F 8.5 Creation

Just got this from Rock. I always used to hate the look of these things, and it looks pretty damn weird coming from a J33R, but it's growing on me. I took it out and played nine on Wednesday, and I didn't misshit a single ball, didn't lose distance on a single drive. If I'd been carrying the J33R I couldn't say the same. Very, very forgiving.

As much as I like the Creation 80 gram, I like the 65 even more. The tip feels more stable, and it's a much easier transition from the 65 to the Evo.

I didn't get a chance to play yesterday, but I hit it at the range for a while. As far as I can tell from the crappy yardage markers, a smooth, controlled swing put at about 255-260 carry. I ripped the last couple balls, first one was caught low on the heel and carried about 250. The next one I flushed and it carried about 280. Not sure on the roll out for any of those shots, but the last one bounced onto the fairway behind the range at about 295.

I'm not sure if I'm going to play today, I've got a MAJOR headache. Kind of chilly today anyway. Maybe later, if so I will update this.

What shaft would you compare the Creation 65 to? I have a creation 80 in my 3 wood and am seriously considering the 65 for my driver-R7 425 TP that is on its way! Is the 65 a very stout shaft like the Graf blue or does it have some feel to it? I would very much like to hear your thoughts on the shaft!

The 65 gram is less 'lively' than the 80. I can overpower the 80 leading to a big sweeping hook but I haven't experienced that with the 65. I would trust what Lyle said in your thread, as I'm still trying to figure this shaft out.

Anyway, I got over my headache and played nine. I'm in love. Most drives were equal to my previous best drives, plus I even hit a couple cuts, which I haven't been able to do in quite a while. It does feel a little long though; I've always been more comfortable with a 44.5" driver. I'm going to cut this one to 45" and test that, then it might come down to 44.5".
