Bridgestone B330-RX Anyone try?

These are off the shelves as fast as Dick's gets them in. Are they that good or just the hype? Someone in here must have tried them by now...

I'm curious to know myself.

I'm too lazy to look, what price point are these coming in at? I'm going to guess that they're in line with the rest of the B330 line and if that's the case then I'll be sticking with the e6.

Come on up and experience it for yourself Doc!!

And it's getting so dark during the week golf after work is about over. Hmmmm. Maybe a vacation day is called for in this situation..

Actually I've golfed almost 3 times a week this year and I'm kinda getting burned out to where I just want to plan/buy a better game for next year.

Oh yeah, the RX balls are the same price as all the other B330's.

I bought a dozen on my recent trip to Florida. They are okay, but nothing that stands out
to make them really great. I'll paly them, but will also play other balls too.

They are average long. Feel okay off the putter. Not as stoppable as one would think, but okay.

I'll give them an okey dokey, but not a game changer.

Played with one last week. I liked. Not as soft and squishy as a ProV, but still nice and soft. Doesn't have as much as the Titleist either, but that worked for me off of the driver and I hit irons so high that they just pretty much stopped where they landed. So for me, they played just as advertised. I found them at Golf Galaxy here in Maryland.

Another ball I played that day that suprised the hell out of me was a Pennicle Platinum Feel......really nice ball for under a buck a piece, I'd actually consider playing these things full time but I live on a course and I get all the ProV1's that myself and all of my friends could ever possibley want for free. I felt bad buying the bridgestones, but hadn't ho'd anything for so long that I couldn't resist.

Awesome ball I think I might switch for good after using a sleeve I snagged out of my buddys box when he wasn't looking. I used them the next day and maan they are a bit longer than my v1x and a bit more durable. My wedges don't cut into them as easily as the v1x. Just an excellent new ball

If they're even a little bit like the E6+ I'd have to agree. I swear I'd rather have a bag of Tootsie Rolls on the course with me than a box of E6+ balls. At least I could eat the rest of the Tootsie Rolls after realizing they weren't worth a shit when hit with a golf club.

Same price point as the other B330 tour's. Have been playing one for atleast 72 holes and it is only slightly marked up.

Lot of negative comments about Bridgestone balls... This will probably be in bag for next season.

Try them you may actually like them

Bridgestone balls and I have never clicked. Not the old ones, not the new ones. Just one of those things.

I also hear they are made by demons that eat kittens, and they hate freedom and hamburgers. Something that crazy has to be true.

Played with one last night.

Infact, I played 4/5 balls throughout the round. As I hit 2-3 balls on several holes and played each.

Tour B330-last years model
Taylormade Red-this years model
Tour B330-RX
Titleist ProV1x
Srixon ZURS

The RX is a nice ball. Clean looking, but I thought maybe the alignment was a little busy looking. Off the tee, the ball was great. All were in the fairway but one, and it rolled out and went into the 1st cut. Didn't notice any sidespin, and they felt somewhat soft, not clicky.. Compareable to the rest of the balls.

I played the B330 alot, and I switched it out with Titleist after 3 holes, when I gashed it against a tree.

Distance wise, I didn't notice much.. I personally hit the TM Red the farthest, then the RX, and the B330 and the ProV1x were within >5 yards to each other. The RX did feel good to hit though, and I would use it more if it wasn't just as expensive as the rest of the balls. A for the driver.. Just as good as the rest, nothing to write home about.

Iron play I think is where the RX makes it's money. I was DRILLING the greens with the RX. I didn't get any ball, again, other than the TM Red to do the same, and it still rolled out a little.. These were scoring irons into the green.. I hit quite a few 6-7 irons from 160-170 out, from a few different lies, and I was getting them to hit, and stop within a foot of the pitch mark. I could only assume they spun more, as I did SEEM to hit them a tad higher than normal. The other ball I liked, and FOUND on the course was a brand new Srixon SURZ. Fantastic ball, IMO. I have never used it, and it stuck HARD into the greens, and didn't move. A- for the Irons.

Wedges were okay to me. The cover is soft, but far more durable than the Titleist and the Taylormade.. The other B330 is pretty tough, and I'd say they are close to the same. My TM's get tore up bad, as do my titleist. I have relatively new Z groove'd wedges, and I didn't really get the RX to peel up, or scuff really bad. The ball looked kinda nice after the round still. I'd give it a B+, as it worked good, but still got some roll out, which was odd for me, since I USUALLY hit them and have them drop and stop.

Putting with them was so so. They almost felt like a distance ball, which kinda irked me.. They rolled fine, and for the crap player, I shouldn't care.. I still prefer the Titleist and the TM Red for putting.. Butter smooth those two are.. I'd give it a B for putter, as it didn't really notice anything about it.. Just like any other ball.

Overall, it's a nice ball. Travels well off the driver, doesn't sidespin, or act silly. It's not loud like a rock, doesn't announce it's crushing blow. Iron play was superb, and with a pured forged iron blow, you feel like you missed the ball, as you didn't feel anything. They stuck to the green like a magnet.. Putting was okay, and again, nothing to rush out and make it the magic ball.. At $40 a dozen, it's a premium price, and I would assume is worth it to atleast try if you spend that much on balls anyways, you might be suprised. I personally like them and will mix them in the rotation. I'm starting to play Titleist less and less, and once these last dozen are gone, I'll keep playing my TM Red's and the Bridgestones.. I'd like to give the Srixons SURZ a go, but again, they are $40 a dozen as well, and I think might be worth it for the limited time I had playing the ball I found.

Tough to find them around these parts, they come in and they go out just as quickly.

Around here they sold quick, but now, they just sit on the shelves anywhere.

I can go in most shops and get easy 20-40 dozen if I wanted.
