9 deg, Ping Rapture V2 Diamana blue in stiff

After getting set up at Pings Customs Fit Centre in Gainsborough I was expecting big things from the all new Rapture.

Looks wise although personally bottom of my list of priorities for clubs, this ticks all the right boxes. ALthough 460 cc it doesn't look like a disney club, the shaft is cool looking and has an impressive logo and you are holding a Ping so you are holding a quality piece of tackle.

Onto the important stuff.

Put a hard swing on this club and this baby is Long. Infact I would say as long as I have hit, could be the custom fit but on a well struck shot you don't want the ball back. On off centre hits as long as you hit hard it still sends the ball out there a respectable distance and fairly straight so no problems there. The 9 degree loft is plenty to get the ball in the air and give some serious hang time. Biggest plus for me is the trajectory, I have always balooned driver to the point where its almost drop and stop. This trajectory is so much more powerful than previous drivers I have used.

One point to note is that you cannot baby this shaft, 100% needed but thats how I hit anyway!

The V2 is supposed to have a super hot face. Will be interesting to see what Bubba Watson plays this year. Last year it was a G10.
