  1. 2009 Mini Reviews

Adidas Powerband golf shoes... Worst POS shoes I've ever bought. My feet are so sore from walking in these I'll never put them on again. I'll buy another pair of Foot Joys and never have a problem.

SC Circa 62 #3 putter.... Wow. I drained some puts even Tiger would have had trouble with. It's a winner.

Callaway FTi driver.... I hit Wi-Golfer's 11º as well as my G10. I got a 10º and all I hit are popups. sssmokin hit it too and popups. Might be a great driver if the face angle is what it says it is. This one must be over 15º!!!
G10 is back in the bag.

Cobra 3-wood... Easy to hit but not very long. So-so rating. Next year I'll get something else.

Cobra Baffler Hybrids.... Fantastic! Much better then my Nickents were.

Precept Laddie X-treme balls.... Two dozen for $13? Overpriced. Don't go anywhere and won't stop. Just a cheapo golf ball for hackers.

    That is all....

    What size are they?
When asked how to put back spin on a i7,
Trevino said how far do you hit it?
The guy said 120yds and Trevino said why do you want to back it up?

wbl, I hate to admit it, but you may be right about the Cobra Bafflers. The ones I hit in Dallas had steel shafts, yet I hit them better and further than my graphite shafted Nickents. :(

The last pair of Adidas golf shoes I bought lasted about 1 year before they fell apart. Not bad. Much better than the Etonics, but not near as good as my Footjoys.

And......I too need a new 3 wood. I can hit my Exotics off the deck sometimes, but not always. Actually, I need a better swing.

I swtched from Nickent to Baffler and I love it. I did demo the TWS last weekend, but I don't think it seemed any different than my DWS other than the fact that it felt heavier.

I have to disagree with you on this one. They are a quite good "budget ball", IMO. I've been playing them as a fall/winter/cold weather ball and I'm hitting them as far or farther than any other ball I've tried. I also don't have a problem stopping them -- last time out YG even asked me if I had switched to a better ball since I was one hop and stopping them with pitches onto hard, dried out, fast greens. It must be a swing problem on your end.

I dunno, maybe I am just really good at spinning wedges (doubt it :laugh but I don't have any trouble stopping chips and pitches on hard and fast greens with all but the hardest cover (TopRock type) balls. Anything with a reasonably soft surlyn cover and I can stop them. No, not like a 3-piece urethane ball but then one hop and stop is fine with me -- especially if it's consistent. I think the Laddie-X is a fine ball and for the price a real bargain.

Okay, the stopping part was not that big a problem but distance sure was. I used another (not premium) ball like the Noodle Long and Soft and got 10-15 yards on these. Just not my cup of tea I guess.

wbl would have to pay me $50 to wear his old shoes.
