Swingspeed don't mean jack when it comes to shafts. It's all about matching your swing to a profile that mates well with it.

I guess I just don't agree with the analysis of the profile of the NV on this board. It's a high bend shaft that has low torque and launches low. It's not a sloppy shaft at all.

    For your swing.

You also like the Blueboard, which I find a noodle as well for my swing. Tiger plays it, but in the heaviest weight and stiffest profile it comes in. And even then, he's all over the joint.

You might swing the Grafalloy Blue and say "what the hell kind of garbage is this?", yet I'm loving that feel. Just works for my swing, and guys with a harder transition like Stenson. Give that guy an NV, I'd pay to see the Minolta Swingvision on that.

I thought Tiger was money with his 3 + 5 woods? When he was spraying his driver he hit his 3w better than ever before. He did have issues at the British but that was with a 12* version that he put in the bag to supposedly get more run out-unfortunately you don't get much run when you hit it in the hay...
Blew up the bag, not sure what's going in next...
    Any suggestions?

You'll also note that Tiger has a definite different swing with his 3 wood than with his driver.

In his defense, I think he's actually bagging the Whiteboard in the driver now...rop:

    Edit: Yep, WB...

He definitely swings different with the 3w, I don't know that he ever had the BB in his driver he may have at one point but has been playing the WB for awhile now.

Personally, I love the BB. The best driver I ever hit was a 905R w/ a 73g bb in stiff flex. Great shaft/head combo-for me. I also had the same head with an NV 65S, good but not as good distance, dispersion is about the same. Didn't feel boardy or overly stiff to me, just not...great I guess.

Absolutely. If the BlueBoard work for you, fantastic. It's just not my cup of tea.

Tiger had the BB in his driver and fairway(s) for a long, long time. His change to the WB full time is only recent and it's been on and off with the BB while he was changing driver heads almost weekly there for a while...

I'll never forget the first time I heard that Tiger was using some shaft made by Mitsubishi. I went to the Golfworks website to see what the deal with them was and then I saw the pricetag....:faintthud

Luckily not long after I found ebay and was able to find clubs at a decent price with that shaft...

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks
Recently made the change from NV65(S) in a 905R to WB 73(S), question is why are you looking to make change. For me it was to bring flight of ball down. The NV is already a low/mid launch shaft and I was looking for something lower launching with a little less spin.

I bought a second driver on ebay and had a new flowerband WB 73S fitted (£179) so have both and direct comparison as follows.

Main differnce is you'll need to hit the wb vs swing at it. I'm naturally a swinger (SS 100-105) The NV is fine with a swing, same swing on WB and it'll end up in right semi or rough every time.
I need to hit at the wb to get it to work for me.
Dispersion , for me the WB wins hands down. It's in the fairway more often than the NV, especially those times when you go at it a little harder.
From what I had read previously I didn't find the WB to be a shaft that was as Stiff/unusable as a 100SS player might think.
For me the WB has eliminated the LHS trouble without cost of finding same on RHS.

The NV was, for some time, my favouritre shaft but the WB is slowly finding favour. Having said that - I am having to work at hitting the WB but the slightly more agrresive ball attack has also filtered through and improved my iron play.

hope above helps you, good luck whichever way you go.

I tried several shafts in my 905R before finding a pulled BB. I installed it blind bore and it is the best feeling and sounding Titleist combo I have ever hit. The THWACK! that head makes is distinctive.

Unfortunately, 2 weeks after I installed the BB, I found a Tour Burner TP that I like even better, so the 905R languishes in the spare clubs bag.

Yeah, I sold mine. I still don't know why other than the fact that I got almost double what I paid for it. Looking back I would take the driver over the $$...oh well.

A couple of months ago. I bought it on 4GEA; the shaft was already in the head. It was advertised as "tour issue" but you know how that goes.

I have my doubts. The Bassara is marked as a stiff, but if I can load it, you know it's more like a soft regular.

Still, it's one of the better feeling drivers I have hit.

Oh, you have the Falcon. I was thinking the Griffin. That's supposedly a serious shaft, I was wondering how you were handling it.
