Thread: Diamana white board Shaft?

  1. Diamana white board Shaft?

I am looking at picking up a second hand driver R7 Limited TP, but the only question I have about it is the Diamana white board shaft? Is anyone playing with that shaft. Right now I am using the Aldila NV 65.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Re: Diamana white board Saft?

I'd be happy to do you a swap, an Aldila NV 65-S for the Whiteboard in that club. I'd even pay the shipping both ways.

Chalk and cheese these two shafts really. I hate the NV with a passion and would love to try out a whiteboard. Each to their own but if you like the NV I'd be surprised no end if the Whiteboard worked for you.

If you like the NV, you won't like the WB. The NV is a noodle by comparison.

The Whiteboard is very, very stable, unlike the Blueboard or the Redboard somewhat. It has a very solid tip section and requires a faster transition and power to work properly. It's more for hitters than for swingers.

    Re: Diamana white board Saft?

The 73X Whiteboard is one of the best shafts I have ever hit. Extremely reliable and predictable.

The Aldila NV is one of the worst shafts I have ever hit, in every weight and flex. Total garbage, in my opinion.

Now, reading the two statements above, would you think that maybe the WB and the NV are night and day shafts for my swing? I would think so.

Rock, I'm getting the very distinct feeling that you and I have the exact same taste in shafts. Do me a favour would you and make a list of every shaft that you think is decent? I'll save a hell of a lot of money that way instead of having to ho and try everything myself....

    Re: Diamana white board Saft?

I have the Whiteboard right now that is tipped to play in an R9... It's a good stable shaft like Rock says. Brings the ball flight down, and lends me to a little more roll-out than normal. Doesn't have a TON of feeling to it, but it's a nice shaft. Likes a nasty quick transition to load it up.

As silly as it sounds.. I've been hooked on the higher launch, low spin shafts lately. Got a Fubuki 73x that is awesome as crap, best shaft I've ever used. Got a Matrix Ozik Altus in the hybrid that is the cats-ass.. And I have some stuff coming today, one that is a Matrix Ozik HD6 shaft to give a whirl.

Well 4 out of 10 aint bad.

Got the 2 Accu's, the Graman and the SynerG. I have 2 Code 8's in X-flex waiting to go in something (probably the FT-I LCG when it arrives and some sort of 3 wood, maybe the TEE) but will probably need to to mortgage my house to afford the others.

DO have 3 spare brand new Creations though, just in case.....
Thanks Rock, I'll keep that list in mind.

Yeah .. that is my problem with the NV, I am having problems with that shaft. I didn't say I liked it, I said I am using it.

What swing speeds are you guys posting with the White Board, or do you know what swing speed one would have to have to get the full potential from the shaft?

Swingspeeds are a bit of a misnomer when it comes to shafts. You really need to know how they profile, or feel. Some guys prefer softer tips and want to feel the head more in their swing (see: Aldila NV) and others want a more stout, deader feel that delivers solid contact (see: Diamana Whiteboard).

If you can go and demo one, I would suggest doing that. In fact, go out and demo a bunch of shafts and find what type delivers the best bang for the buck. More often than not, when people do this, they are surprised by their findings.

Your local shop should have a Callaway or Cobra/Titleist fitting cart that can help you accomplish this. Just say you're thinking of buying "X" driver, but you're unsure of what shaft you'd like in it. Then, hit everything they have and then say you're "gonna think about it" and walk out.

Then, go and buy a pull that will fit your driver and you're set.
