Thread: Ping G2 = OUT Mizuno MP 60 = IN

    Ping G2 = OUT Mizuno MP 60 = IN

I was able to demo the Mizuno MP 60 for four days this weekend. I'M SOLD! They were exactly what I had imaged. When I think of the perfect sound and feel of a buttered shot it is identical to the sound and feel of the MP 60. They look so clean at address that I'm swelled with confidence before I even swing. I stuck shots with them that I would have never thought about hitting. These are the real deal.*

    *For my swing.:miz:

VT, I almost did, but they did not have the shaft I wanted. I actually ended up making adjustments to my 983K and am happy with it - however I feel a little unfaithful because I'm still keeping one eye on the 905R!

  5. I really need to try the mp60's, I find myself looking at them and the Titleist 695cb's daily, in an almost secretive porn like way.

I bought a 905R (8.5) on Thursday (second one I have owned, first one broke) with a speeder stiff in it. I have finally solved my high ball flight problem, and hit this so well all weekend long that I am nearly giddy.

  6. Keep your Pings for when the Mizuno's betray you!!!

WBL - I love your spirit and appreciate the advice. What it boiled down to is the soles of my G2 irons were never right for my swing. I have more of a sweeping action and I found it difficult to play them out of the rough. That is one example, but in the end I was never able to fall in love with them. I realize that the MP 60s are LUST at first site, but they just sit right in my eyes. I will never discount the quality of the PINGs, they are a great club, just not my type!

I know the feeling, I just finally pulled the trigger and I feel as though I will never look back. They (MP 60) are the purest thing I've ever put a swing on.

What is you handicap? Style of play? Natural ball flight? These might just be what you are looking for!

  9. I play off a 4 currently, have gotten much smoother with my swing, although I still go at it pretty hard. Swing speed of about 106 with a driver. I hit the ball quite high, and have been working hard to hit a baby fade as my predominant shot. I use to play a draw, but am trying to get away from it.

I REALLY think you should hit the MP 60. The short game irons have been slightly delofted = more distance, and the longer irons have a high fade with impressive distance.*

    hahaha Bames, good idea.

I love Mizunos as well, and really would like to get some 32s, but that darn college gets hard to afford sometimes.

  12. bames,

One last Ping gasp. While you're playing your MP-60's have your Pings adjusted for your swing by a Ping rep. They're made to be able to change that stuff. You can also get some different grinds to fit your game. Let's see you get that out of Mizuno. Okay, I'll shut up now. (But don't say that there is no "feel" to the Pings, LOL).

  13. If you want cast clubs then Pings are a very good choice. The eye2 and i3 are their best IMO

My G2s definitely have feel, it is just not the same feel I was always looking for. It didn't fit my mind's eye. My colleague kills my Pings, they are perfect for him, and I can hear the distinct sound of a buttered shot made by a Ping when he pures one, but it isn't the sound for me.
