Forum site getting sluggish?

Is it just me, or has the site become increasingly sluggish over the past few weeks?

Its just you.

I get an occasional break down where a page won't load, but it seems to be running as fast as normal over the past few weeks.

try cleaning up your computer.

Delete cookies, cache(temp internet files) and history.

Then get a registry cleaner and use it. That should help speed things up.

Thanks - it's happening on more than one computer. Three different ones over the last few few weeks. The one I use the most is a pretty new OS install, and a pretty clean hard drive, so I don't think I need to worry about the registry. I'll clear out the cache, history, etc. I haven't done that lately (because it should clear whenever I exit Explorer).

The problem only seems to be slow loads when I click on the forum links at the top of the page. Oh well. I'll see what happens.

You need to quit eating that junk food and take some Geritol.

And when taking your pet to the vet, don't use the term sluggish, always say lethargic. He's lethargic!!!! He's a frigging dog who doesn't have anything to do all day except sleep and eat!!!! I want to be lethargic!!!!

ARRRGGHHH!!!!! If one more pet owner says that to me, I will go postal with a 9 iron!!!

That's got to be better than the guy who brings in the maniacal Pit Bull and says, "he's been getting a little frisky lately".

My computer doesn't eat junk food. I've got it on a diet...

Have you dated Nick Faldo, Doc?

Maybe an obscure reference, but one of Nick's post divorce college aged girlfriends took a 9 iron to his Porsche.

I'll try and remember that about sluggish.......either that or hope my Vet doesn't carry their clubs in their car.

From my experience, the site has never worked better than as of late. Zero hangs, fast uploads, ect.

Maybe your provider is having connection issues.

I was just going to say the same thing. Site is working nearly flawlessly. People posting seems to have dropped off a fair bit however as the weather gets nice.

I cleared my history, and that seems to have helped a lot.

Clearing history will have no effect on the page load speed. Clearing cookies won't either (except the login page). Temporary Internet Files might have a minimal effect, but only on pages that have not changed, so really no help there either.

I actually did clear the Temp files, (and the history, but not the cookies.) It did seem to help. A lot. Could be coincidence.

This is really beginning to become an annoyance. At this moment this site is DIRT SLOW. Doing anything takes 5-15 seconds.

I went to three other forums I belong to and they were very fast. So it's not my computer, or my provider.

It comes and goes. Sometimes the site behaves as it should, and sometimes my browser it is just plain slow to load any of its pages. Other forums at the same time? No problem.

<Edit> - Five minutes after I posted the above, everything is back to normal. Aaaarrrggghhhhh!!!
