Photo size

I know it's not a problem for you guys running those big high-res screen, but for my little 1024x768 laptop, the current photo width limit is too big. People posting 1024x768 photos causes the thread text to go beyond the borders of the screen. A real PITA.

Sling - any chance of squeezing the width limit just a bit?

E,

While I do feel your pain (having just come from a laptop), it really makes no sense to limit those that have the larger screens (which is the majority, unfortunately for you).

We deal with this all the time at work. We have a small number of end users that refuse to upgrade their hardware, and we're trying to make everyone happy. But it's a pain in the ass to try and have every platform under the sun supported, even back to Win95 if you can believe it! The same goes for screen resolution. We currently support a 17" monitor, nothing less. The executive decision was made soley to try and get people to upgrade to the next level.

While I'm not putting you into that category, you are of the minority, and as such, 'suffer' because of it.

I'll do my best to post smaller pictures of my garbage, if that helps.

Cheers,

R35

I feel your pain, but, can't you just size down images anyway? Right click on em and all.

Yeah, that's what I do - 600 x whatever.

I can see Rock's argument, since the bigger pics are nice. And I understand that most people don't have a re-sizing utility like Photoshop.

So the 1024 x 768 pics they shoot are the 1024 x 768 pics they download.

C'est la vie...

there are guidelines posted when u upload stuff if everyone pays attention.

i know i made that mistake the first time i uploaded picks.they were huge because i just downloaded them from the camera.they were like 2500x2500 or some crazy thing like that.

i actualy have a program on my comp that came with it and all i have to do is click resize web blog and it shinks them to 640x479 or i can make it e-mail size 320x239.it also changes them from jpeg to jpg whatever the diff. i dont know.

so its just getting people to follow instructions already in place.

Eracer, I thought you already knew that you suffered when your equipment was too small and outdated...

Yeah, but the pictures are supposed to help that, not frustrate me further...

Reszing software is free on the net. Try Irfanview, for one.

Two clicks, done.

Even Paint resizes quite easily. Though not as well.
