I understand that. Really I do.

Same forum software (vbulletin) on two different sites (shottalk.com and acousticguitarforum.com. Same browser (IE6). Completely different results (on AGF the CPU usage is zero unless a page is being loaded, and memory usage remains basically static, while on Shottalk the CPU is being utilized (by something!) and the RAM usage just keeps going up and up and up and up and up and up.)

We could play this game forever.

Probably because you're using Firefox. But since there are millions of people in the world still using IE6, I don't think I'm out of line to expect that a forum site works nicely with it, especially since other forum sites using the same software do work well with it. I suspect that the snow is the culprit.

I'll not post any more about this subject until the GUI goes back to the way it was. Working for me and my old IE6. that is...

The snow is separate from the theme. I took it out. try it now.

Don't forget to clear your cookies before you reload the page.

That completely solved the problem. CPU use is now zero, and RAM use is static.

Yep, that solved it. I wasn't gonna bitch but definitely noticed it with Firefox and IE6 both. Whenever I minimized the browser the CPU usage went away.

My Chihuahua looked at me like I was nuts as well, the first time I put him out in 5 inches of snow. Then he realized he just had to learn to live with it, because I would throw his @$$ in the crate if he pee'd on the floor regardless of how much snow was on the ground.

I guess that would be an awful lot to expect from a Gerbil like IE though, even though the Gerbil resembles the Chihuahua. IE can try and impersonate the FOX, but once you throw a little snow it's way, it'll just whine and pee on the floor.

ugh Mac... I can't believe we went there...

If you just want out of Windows, just put some unix hybrid on your machine and go hardcore
