Details from the NHL's new offer:

REVENUE SPLIT: 50-50 (players received 57 per cent last year)
LENGTH OF CBA: six years (old one covered seven years)
ARBITRATION: unchanged
AHL: Salaries in for players in minors part of the cap (minor league salaries don’t count currently)
CONTRACT LIMITS: five years (no limits currently)
ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACTS: limited to four years (up from three)
REVENUE SHARING: $200 million pool (currently about $100 million)

Last year, the NHL earned $3.3 billion with 57 per cent — or $1.87 billion — divvied up among the league’s players.

The league last asked for a 17.5 per cent rollback in salaries, a notion the players are balking at. The league was also asking also asking the players take 47 per cent of revenue by the end of a six-year offer. The players were offering to cut their take from 57 per cent to 54 per cent.

Here's to hoping they take the deal... though the AHL money may be the new deal breaker.

Its a shame. I don't believe there will be a season this year.
Since they cancelled through Nov 30th, and the Winter Classic will likely be cancelled, I think you're unfortunately right.

Thumbs down.
