Anyone see the brawl between the Pirates and the Brewers yesterday?

    I'll agree that

    1. Gomez should not have been trotting to first even if he thought he hit it out. You shouldn't do that when you're on the road.
    2. Gomez is a little bit of a hothead....but then I don't know what the pitcher said to him either.
    3. Gomez was rightfully removed from the game.

The pitcher should have been thrown out...

Gomez acted like a damn child. Everyone who got ejected deserved it. Gomez later said he thought the fly ball was going to be caught. That's a lie. He thought he hit it out, he did that cocky bat flip then trotted until he saw it hit the wall. As to the fight, Gomez said he was just trying to protect himself, lol. Did he forget that he was on camera. The whole deal was stupid. I would be pissed if I was Roenicke and my boys were acting like that. The sucker-punching dudes on the bench were no better. It was all an embarrassment to Milwaukee, if you ask me. Even if they were taunted, for acting a fool.

Gomez should've had to do laps around the field after the game in front of the crowd as punishment, lol. Or just let them fight it out like hockey.

If the Pirates that were on the bench would've stayed on the bench, nothing would have happened IMO. They had Gomez and Cole separated and it would have been fine assuming what's his name wouldn't have came off the bench instigated further.

I wouldn't call it acting like a child unless I knew what Cole said to him. I don't think players should just stand there and take being talked to in a disrespectful manner. I've heard some things that probably shouldn't have been broadcast...and they get nasty on the field.

I don't know what was said, so I might have flipped sh!t too, but I would've looked childish all the same. No matter.

I'm not bashing the Crew and the Pirates are one of my least favorite teams. I'm just bashing Gomez, lol.

DBacks hire Tony La Russa as Chief Baseball Officer. Maybe he can turn this clusterfuck around.

Should be good. Arroyo is one of our better pitchers (for whatever that's worth), and even though our record is crappy we are 12-10 on the road. Plus, we are 2-0 since the La Russa hiring.

BTW, you guys are lucky to have La Russa's in your organization. Too bad he's not in the STL office. I miss Dave Duncan too. :(

I agree 100%. Hopefully he changes the culture that has crept into the clubhouse.
