"Dandy" Don Meredith... Frank Gifford... and usually inebriated Cosell.

Howard Cosell’s zenith was Battle of the Network Stars.

Has Belichick gained weight? I thought he looked really heavy last night.

Still would have like to have seen Newton vs. Mahommes.

Chiefs first team in NFL history to start four consecutive seasons 4-0.

I was happy with the way the Patriots played. The defense kept the Chiefs contained and the offense moved the ball effectively without Cam. A couple of Hoyer brain farts took them out of the game.

Horrible game. Raiders ran right through the Chiefs defense. Mahommes looked like the reincarnation of Ryan Leaf. No idea what the problem was. Hope they get it worked out... and soon.

NFC East is hilariously bad. Before the Cowboys won yesterday, first place was the Eagles at 1-3-1 [IMG]

OK, 1/4 of the way in (for most teams thanks to the Covid) let’s see how it’s going.

AFC East: NE not in first, but was playing good football before the Covid hit. Still possible
AFC West: Chiefs are there, but LV and LAC are playing better than expected.
AFC North: The Browns are still in the hunt (when is the last time you heard that?)
AFC South: Even with the Covid count, the other teams in the South are not pushing the Titans

NFC East: Lets face it, every team in this division sucks. It could be anyone.
NFC West: 49’ers hopefully have a good HMO plan. I do not see them overcoming the injuries.
NFC North: Probably should have put more faith in an inspired Rodgers. Lions are mediocre.
NFC South: Bucs still making mistakes and Carolina playing good ball. Sticking with the Bucs.

Yeah they need to ditch the divisional theme. Top 8 from each conference make the playoffs. Although it would be pretty funny to win your division and still miss the playoffs.

Wasn't that long ago when the NFC West sent a team with a below .500 record to the playoffs.

Yep. The format should have changed the following year. With the way the NFC East is going, they could be sending a .250 team to the playoffs.

Div 1 NCAA has how many conferences? No guarantee a team winning their conference will end up in the fairly new "Championship" playoff. Could have more than one team from the SEC, etc.
MLB takes leaders from all divisions into the playoffs. But, they play a gazillion games each year. NFL only plays 16 games... on a non-COVID year. Why should a 12-4 team have to stay home so a 4-12 team can go to the playoffs... just because they won their division? Take the teams with the best records to the playoffs. They are the most exciting teams... the teams that are more likely to generate viewership from the masses.

It was Seattle and they win their playoff game against the Saints if I remember correctly.
