Cassel was fine. I get you are a Pat's fan and that's cool with me, I just think the Bills are better at this point. Time will tell.

I hesitate to believe the name will change but with sponsors adding pressure it just might. This topic has been discussed for at least 30-40 years. Like other things with the latest social movement I am cautiously optimistic. I’ve seen some of these scenes before, wondering if the ending will be different this time around.

I'd suggest the Washington Americans. They could keep the same logo.

Nike removed all the Redskin's merchandise from their website and said they won't put it back until he changes their name.

If it costs Snyder money, he'll probably cave. Otherwise, he doesn't give a shit if he offends anyone.

My guess is that Newton starts if he’s healthy, but Stidham doesn’t scare me if he has to start, there is a reason Bill didn’t rush into an FA QB.

Cam is no where near the QB he used to be, I predict 1 year and done.

As a REDSKINS fan, I see no reason to change the name. I hated Nike before this anyway, so screw them.

That is usually the way it works for the Pats....either an FA comes in and can learn the system or they are gone in a few weeks. They have had some big name players come through as FA’s and not be able to adapt and find themselves cut or traded fairly quickly.

Word. Never give in to the activist mob.

That organisation just reported a massive loss/downturn. Let them Woke themselves.

On PTI the other day Kornheiser said that with TV revenues it pretty much guarantees that every NFL franchise is profitable on that alone the rest is heavy. That being said, big sponsors pulling big money is not nothing. I’ll take this approach, like many other things lately, I’ll believe it when I see it. Not saying they shouldn’t change the name, but we’ve seen this movie before, just different characters.

    I other bold sports predictions:

    1. The NFL, NBA and MLB may start but they won’t finish the season.

    2. DeChambeau and his length is a trend that will last until he hurts himself or learns to hit a wedge.

    3. Belicek and the Pats have a better season than Brady and the Bucs, in the 2021-22 season.

Chiefs sign Mahomes to a 10 year extension worth over $400 million.

They better hope the salary cap keeps rising a ton or they will not be able to put/keep talent around him. That’s a lot of money to commit to a running QB, not that he is not an elite passer, but he picked up some nagging injuries last year on some runs downfield that slowed him down in the middle of the season.

Should be an interesting decade for Chiefs fans.

This is an e-mail sent to Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune after an article he published concerning a name change for the Washington Redskins

Dear Mr. Page: I agree with our Native American population. I am highly jilted by the racially charged name of the Washington Redskins. One might argue that to name a professional football team after Native Americans would exalt them as fine warriors, but nay, nay. We must be careful not to offend, and in the spirit of political correctness and courtesy, we must move forward.

Let's ditch the Kansas City Chiefs, the Atlanta Braves and the Cleveland Indians. If your shorts are in a wad because of the reference the name Redskins makes to skin color, then we need to get rid of the Cleveland Browns.

The Carolina Panthers obviously were named to keep the memory of militant Blacks from the 60's alive. Gone. It's offensive to us white folk.

The New York Yankees offend the Southern population. Do you see a team named for the Confederacy? No! There is no room for any reference to that tragic war that cost this country so many young men's lives.

I am also offended by the blatant references to the Catholic religion among our sports team names. Totally inappropriate to have the New Orleans Saints, the Los Angeles Angels or the San Diego Padres.

Then there are the team names that glorify criminals who raped and pillaged. We are talking about the horrible Oakland Raiders, the Minnesota Vikings, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Pittsburgh Pirates!

Now, let us address those teams that clearly send the wrong message to our children. The San Diego Chargers promote irresponsible fighting or even spending habits. Wrong message to our children.

The New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants promote obesity, a growing childhood epidemic. Wrong message to our children. The Cincinnati Reds promote downers/barbiturates. Wrong message to our
    children.

The Milwaukee Brewers. Well that goes without saying. Wrong message to our children.

So, there you go. We need to support any legislation that comes out to rectify this travesty, because the government will likely become involved with this issue, as they should. Just the kind of thing the do-nothing Congress loves.

As a die-hard Oregon State fan, my wife and I, with all of this in mind, suggest it might also make some sense to change the name of the State women's athletic teams to something other than "the Beavers (especially when they play Southern California. Do we really want the Trojans sticking it to the Beavers???

I always love your articles and I generally agree with them. As for the Redskins name I would suggest they change the name to the "Foreskins" to better represent their community, paying tribute to the dick heads in D.C.

I think this, and the push to play partial seasons in multiple sports, just shows how screwed up our priorities are. NO ONE is worth that much money to play any sport...NO ONE! Stupidest thing I've seen lately from the sports world.
