I was wondering if you can go on the course and maybe shoot the pins to get yardages before my tee time. Anyone know if can do this? I know you can't practice on course, also they give pin location sheets but just wondering if can do this...

Thanks:alien::ninja:

I know of nothing that would prevent you from making your own "yardage book" by shooting pins before a round. I would, however, check with the tournament committee first.

Won't you be able to use your device during the round? Seems to me you would be unknowing of exactly where a first shot would land and, therefore, would need to shoot everything anyway. I could see wanting to see where each pin is on the green. Pin location charts usually do not show undulations in the green. If I were to run the course before a tourney, I'd be more concerned with determining where to land a shot on the green than distances. Distances to the pin can be determined during the course of play.

Rangefinders are legal, they just can't adjust for slope.

Ya I know. It's more because there is 1 per 3 that I either use my 4iron or my 3. So of the tee box is in front then I rather have 4 in the bag. If it's in back tee then a choke up hybrid which this hole long is not good,OB...
