I've noticed since the GUI change to the winter theme, that IE6 chews up CPU time, and steadily consumes more and more RAM the longer I stay connected to this site. Doesn't happen with other sites. Right now, Task Manger shows 165MB for IE, and 85% CPU utilization. The drop down menus are very slow, and keystrokes are getting sluggish.

Up to 180MB RAM used now. Gotta' exit.

I use firefox. You should too.

I was going to put a tag on my post that said:

"Please don't suggest Firefox, Opera, or even IE7. I tried Firefox once, and I had to reformat my hard drive to fix the problems it caused. I Don't like Opera. And IE7 requires that I succumb to the incredibly intrusive "Windows Genuine Advantage" tool."

I'm hanging on to IE6 by my fingernails.

IE 6.0 SP2..no problems with speed at all.

I think it's either a cheap computer or operator error, myself. :D

I resemble that remark!

Do me a favor. Open Task Manager, and tell me what your CPU and memory usage is for iexplore.exe. Leave it running as you use the program. Tell me whether the RAM usage keeps going up up up...

While I'm not suffering, ST does use considerable CP usage for some odd reason. I've checked similar sites, even one offering the sweet "dropping snow" theme, and I get it knocked down to single digit CPU usage and about 10mb. ST uses 47-50% and over 67MB...

Seems like any computer I get on the site always seems a little sluggish but most forums seem that way, I have been having problems with the new post link not working.

Sounds like an ID 10 T error.

That should be intuitively obvious to even the most casual observer.

Mebbe your porn sites have dropped a few Christmas presents off for you.

Checked out the cpu usage with ST on & off.
With it on the usage is around 75-80%, close it & usage drops to 12%.
