It's on in Sydney at The Australian Golf Club 26 - 29 of November.

Jordan Spieth is the defending champion. His -8 final round last year in crazy conditions was described as almost unbelievable.

Golf.com has reported Spieth is already in Australia and practising on the Melbourne Sandbelt courses.

Live scores.

Round 1 underway. Jordan Spieth -1 after 13 holes.

Interestingly, Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke were sneaky late entrants. Something lured them here.

Westwood -2 after 13. Geoff Ogilvy the same. Adam Scott doesn't tee off till later.

I was reading today that 2015 was a year to forget for Lee Westwood. A messy divorce. Probably impacted on his lack of success on the course. Anyhoo, he put this photo on social media after his round with the comment: "

And why not. Too hot to practice! Surfs up!"

So Matt Jones wins and beats Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott by one shot.

Jones's win gets him a start in the Open Championship. Scott and Spieth have already qualified. It'll be interesting if they are grouped together at some stage in that major.
