Our local college team is in the running to play for the National Championship. 8-0, so far. Beat another tough team yesterday. Should be rated #2, this week, right behind Alabama. It helped to have Florida get beat by Georgia. One of the few times in history, most of our community was cheering for Oklahoma. They just couldn't get it done against Notre Dame.

If the Cats run the table... and if 'Bama and ND go undefeated... we should get the nod to play 'Bama. We've had a much more difficult schedule than ND. If the computer picks the game, we will go. If they let the tradition of ND enter in, ND will go and we'll be closed out. But, we have to win out. So much could happen. LSU beats 'Bama next weekend and we play ND for the Championship. Oregon is still out there, but they haven't had that difficult of a schedule.

Our QB is running #1 for the Heisman. He's a good kid.

Beginning to see quite a bit of national acclaim in the sports media for our little podunk town out in the middle of the sticks!!!!!

Oregon is just getting into the meat of their schedule. Funny thing is K St was supposed to play Oregon this year before K St pulled out.

Doesn't ND get to automatically play for the title if they get ten wins? I had heard that it was part of their deal, being an independent School (not part of a conference.)

They get a BCS game with ten wins, but they need to be ranked in the top 2 for the championship game just like everybody else.

Smart man, you don't want anything to do with Oregon.

You mean the 1-7 (o-6) Auburn Tigers? You do know that this is 2012 right?

Yes I do. Same style offense that Oregon has this year though. Auburn had one of the lower tier defenses in the SEC that year and managed to hold Oregon to 19 points, which was second to Cal holding them to 15 points.

I'm not worried about their offensive setup against a great defense, be it Alabama, LSU, Georgia or Florida.

This is by far the best Oregon team I have ever seen and I have been watching college football since 1979. This years Oregon team can beat anybody in the nation and I include Alabama in that statement.

So in 2010 you would have said that Oregon was the best Oregon team you had ever seen leading up to them playing Auburn?

By the way, Oregon is 84th in the country in passing and 3rd in rushing. Alabama has a far more balanced team than them and a far superior defense. Just saying, I don't understand where you see the superiority.

Up to that point they were probably the best Oregon team I've seen, but this years team is head and shoulders above the 2010 team. Their defense is very good and their team speed is second to none.

Have you seen Oregon play this year? I've seen every game and most of Alabama's games. I believe that Oregon can beat Alabama.

They gave up 34 points to Arkansas St. We give up an average of 8.1 a game.
