We had a tee time today. The governor closed golf courses. He recommends outdoor activities but closed golf. What an idiot. This is my recreation. He's a demoncrat.

My golf club has reacted very conservatively. In an announcement today it said it is staying closed because of the potential health risks to staff and elderly golfers.

Other golf courses have reopened (with distancing restrictions). I’ll be playing one of those next Wednesday

In my neck of the woods this weekend, local cable TV has a dedicated Masters channel with 24/7 reruns. A tinge of sadness when watching. Would love there to have been an April Masters.

Word on the streets / links is that our club is moving to be "open-ready" by the end of May. We need the green light form the government first, but fishing and golf are being discussed now as lower risk activities. A ton of measures being put in place; you need to book tee times, even just to play a few holes, you get escorted from car park to 1st tee, max 3-balls, limited access to the clubhouse. No competitions, no visitors, etc. I'm sure it will calm down in the ensuing months, but it will be nice to get a game. 38 days now since hitting a ball. :(

The interesting thing is that the UK is going to have one of the highest death tolls in Europe, even with all these measures. It's a frustrating conundrum!!
