    Christmas sucks balls.

I love getting together with my family, but the idea of paying out all this money for shit that will be 60% off two weeks later makes absolutely no sense.

I have been lobbying my family for a February Xmas for years.

Its no longer the holiday for which it was originally observed. Its now a retail orgy that makes me want to puke.

Yeah looking foreward to it, but it will probably be a shovel and till, because we are ripping up the lawn an sodding next spring, so we are tearing and tarping now while there is no snow...

My son went to school and told all his friends that his dad said Santa isn't real. Apparently there were some pissed off parents that day. Worse, they were mad at ME. WTF?
Seriously, these are 9 and 10 year olds... if your kid doesn't know by now, then something's wrong.

I let my kids believe in Santa for as long as they wanted. When they finally found out he wasn't (at a much later age than most) I sat them down and had a discussion about it with them. I said that even if Santa doesn't exist his spirit most definitely does, and that is what we rejoice in.

My kids range in age from 12-7months. The oldest has known there is not Santa for a few years and we went the same route as Greg. Let them believe as long as they want and then explain the spirit of Santa and the season. I think #2 has his suspicions. #3 still believes and its cool. The baby, we still have some time :)

My oldest helps us on Christmas Eve, keeping the others in bed and whatnot.

My 7 year old has his doubts. My wife and I took our boys to ride the Polar Express and Santa came on the train and gave all the kids bells off of his sleigh. Well, my oldest smelled a rat when he saw the 'Made in China' sticker on the bell. I had to tell him that Santa had to outsource some of the jobs because the elves were so busy. I knew that he knew that I was full of shit but he went along with it.
