Wishing all the Shottalkers a fantastic Thanksgiving. Eat well. Be kind to "those" relatives. And just remember... some time ago an entire career was ruined on "Skanksgiving". Don't be caught "eating out"!!!!:D:D:D

I think pictures of your "feast" would be appropriate. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here. :)

Here's mine. The wife is part Indian and Norwegian so her relatives were there.

Both daughters, son-in-laws, and 5 grandkids all here for most of the day. Invited the neighbor from across the street and he was here quite a while. He is from India. His wife is back east on a research grant at Harvard so he was alone. Fun day.

Ended up being a great day! Still, there's always that "one". It's usually... and he didn't disappoint... one of the son-in-laws. Redneck through and through. With granddaughters and rest of family around, we learned about denutting goats. We learned about the platform he built so their short buck goat could "service" the females. We learned how as soon as the buck goat finished his task with the female, he goes stiff and falls over and just lays there for a while. Just really excellent Thanksgiving Day family conversation.....

Finished the day with our usual Scrabble tournament where the two daughters try to unseat Dad as reigning Scrabble Champion. The oldest granddaughter joined us and she did pretty well for her age and inexperience. We have "Super Scrabble" which has twice the letter tiles of a regulation Scrabble and a much larger board. Takes a little over 2 hours per game. I won both games to the dismay of the eldest daughter. She has not lost her competitiveness. Pretty unhappy as she headed home around 11 p.m. with a pouting scowl on her face!

Hope everyone enjoyed their day......

He's the type to pull his own finger!

This young man has been married to our daughter for 22 years. During those 22 years, he has been employed approximately 2 years. That's TWO years! The other 20, he's worked hard trying to spend the money the daughter makes. New bass boat every couple of years. New 5th wheel camper every couple of years. This past year his "project" was building a barn for the new goat endeavor... and getting a dozen goats. He fishes in tournaments during the summer... for the enjoyment. He hunts and hunts and hunts during the winter. He has had a job the past three to four months. Seems to enjoy it. The boys are old enough to pretty well take care of themselves. He was a pretty good stay-at-home dad, making sure the boys did lots of dirt bike racing, fishing, hunting, etc. And, the daughter is still very supportive of him and it seems she is content with the situation. She stays extremely busy with and focused on her work so is probably a relief to have a "house husband".
