    ...rules!

Spent the lockout watching more college and pro football than before, and more college basketball. These 3, and golf, are what I grew up on.

    Hockey beats them all!

If you've never been to an NHL game, go. Give it a chance. It's worth it!

They got off to a bit of a slow start, but I'm still hopeful that they'll have another good season. The ownership situation (or lack thereof) still sucks, though.

Yep. I don't think there is anything that will keep them in Phx now.

Speaking of slow starts, the game finished 4-1 for your hurricanes MCDavis. My Leafs sadly are looking like a disappointment for yet another year. I'm still not counting them out yet, having been raised on Leafs hockey I can't. But if they don't start soon this shortened season will slip away. I have seen many good years with them but am too young to have witnessed a Cup win. Maybe in my life time yet?

I will however say, I will never pay to go see them play. At $200+ for tickets, no thanks!! I really enjoy minor hockey up here in Ontario. I actually watched a younger Jeff Skinner play his first games for the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League. The Hurricanes got a real superstar with that draft for sure! To see the young kids play who are striving to play in the NHL, for me is more enjoyable and far more affordable!!

Agreed. $19 for center ice club level seats to watch future stars is not too shabby.

Speaking of minors, here's a pic of the projected #1 overall pick of the 2013 draft - Seth Jones - signing my son's forehead.

I know, Father of the Year, right? :D

When my son asked him to sign his head, Seth asked him "Do you have school tomorrow?" My son said yes, Seth paused, and then mentioned that he'd never signed anyone's head before as he scribbled away. Another NHL first, courtesy of my family. :D

Sadly, his mother made sure his forehead was clean before sending him off to school the next morning.

The other one is Ty Rattie, who was drafted in the first round by the Blues in 2011.
