Here's the thread for good happenings, and also your chance to one-up someone who thinks their day is going better than yours.

    For example:

I recently found out that my son was accepted to Oregon State University.

    aaaand GO!

Communicating with a rescue organization about 50 miles from us. After looking for a while, may have found a couple dogs to take a look at. Headed there on Friday to meet the dogs and see if one might come home with us! So many rescues out there. Sad.

Sounds great, what sort of dog(s) you looking at? Our Springer Spaniel is a rescue. She’s a gorgeous liver and white. A bit eccentric (like the owners) so she fits right in.

I also get to go up to Minnesota this weekend and sit on a frozen lake all day and most of the night!!! Now...y'all might not think that's awesome...but I love ice fishing! Drink beer, hang out with the guys, fry up what ya caught for dinner.

I'm on another forum and they have two similar threads "what went wrong today?" and "what went right today?" The what went wrong thread can get a bit depressing so someone started the good thread. Yin-yang.

BTW - this thread is meant for one-upping. :D

edit: this thread was not meant to diminish yours. The bad day thread definitely serves a purpose and it's a good place to vent.

Passing the time in London this afternoon, waiting for a meeting. My view is the Houses of Parliament.

We've always had a dog(s) during our 52 years of marriage. When Abby died last Thanksgiving, we decided not to get another at our age. Well.... That thought didn't last but a couple months.
The last three have been rescues. In fact, we've never had a "new puppy". I guess all of our dogs could have been classified as rescues. My bride put her foot down that she was going to have some requirements with this one. 1.) Small! 2.) Female 3.) Doesn't shed, or if it does, not much 4.) Already house broken. Seems the small rescues get grabbed up awfully quick. There are a ton of Labs and Pits and Mastiffs and Huskies and Shepherds out there. Well, we finally found a Wirehair Terrier and were first to get our name on the list. 1-year old. 10 lbs. Not what I would define as a "real" dog!!! It's more of a cross between a rat and a gopher! The dog is being fostered about 50 miles to the east. Granddaughters are out of school tomorrow and want to go along to meet her and see if it's the one we want. This same foster has a toy Beagle, also. The one I really want, from this rescue, is a Golden Retriever mix that is pure blonde. (Of course, living with a blonde for over 50 years that hair color does have some negatives!!) Roads should be better tomorrow. Will just see what we see...….

I bought a new, to me, PRS guitar and I'll be as good of a player as PapaD but I've wanted this particular axe for over 10 years.

This guy is 94. He's a WW II vet, career Navy. Served in the Pacific theatre on the battleship USS New Jersey. He plays in my Tues/Thurs group and shows up for 18 holes both days every week. His 70 year-old son is in our group too. Jake was on my team today......he's my hero! He had some awesome stories to share. He's a 28 handicapper and keeps it in play! He's sharp as a tack and moves along pretty good. I told him today, he is the only guy I know whose son is an old man!

It's always wild to me when someone is old enough to have a 70+ year old son.
