Irish Golf: Over 2,200 Photos

If anyone's planning a trip to Ireland (or fancies a trip down memory lane), there are now over 2,200 photographs of 210 golf courses available on my Flickr Page

Nice pics of Portsalon, bringing back great memories. Agree with you about 2nd hole. I managed a drive and 4 iron (both nailed) to leave an easy par. However coul deasily see a treble going on the card.

And remind me to take 4 bags for balls if I ever play Ballyliffin...where are you supposed to hit the damn thing?

Portsalon is one of the unsung gems, and that 2nd hole is just amazing.

As for Ballyliffin, Stanters, you could take a three iron off the tee on numerous occasions as there are several curving doglegs (all right hand) where a drive could stuff you in the rough. Mind you, it might be more preferable to the bunkers!

 

You obviously have never seen me hit a 3 iron......

Thanks man! I went to Waterville in 2005 and have been trying to get back since. Skellig Bay hadnt opened yet, but we played Waterville, Tralee, Ballybunion, Dooks and Lahinch. Best golf trip ever....

 

Nice pictures. Have you had a chance to visit Donald Trumps new course in Scotland? Yes, I realize your flicker page(s) and blog is focused on Ireland but since Scotland and Ireland are relatively close and in the same general geographic location, have your travels taken you there?

 

I just got back from Ireland a couple weeks ago and played Waterville, Doonbeg, Lahinch and Ballybunion... What an experience! Great pictures.
