I have been away from this site for far too long, but life has a funny way of keeping you on your toes. I graduated from medical school in December, and I am starting my residency at East Carolina University in July (so NC shot talkers we will have to have another outing sometime in the near future). My daughter Natalie was born on December 21st last year, well born is not the correct term - she was surgically removed like a tumor, at least that is what I will tell her when she grows up hehe. She had two heart defects that have required open heart surgery, and I can honestly say if your kid is sick I don't care where you live drive your ass to Ann Arbor Michigan. C.S. Mott hospital is the best hospital I have ever been to. Natalie, and my wife Tabitha are both doing great after their surgeries, and we are slowly settling into a rhythm as parents. I am glad to see that so many of the same faces are still here, and was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of a few of our members. But I just wanted to let you all know that I am back, and looking forward to talking golf once again. It has been far far far too long since I got that chance.

Great to have you back!! Also, aren't we so blessed to live in a time of modern medical miracles???!!!! I continue to be amazed.
So good to hear your family came through their medical difficulties with flying colors. Good luck in your residency endeavors. Try to play a little golf, but remember you will have plenty of time for that later. Concentrate on the residency and spend as much time as possible with that little one!!! Too quickly, they grow up and spread wings and are gone from the nest.

(Did you have to take a special course in linquistics in medical school in order to be able to communicate with those rednecks from the Carolinas?? Our son married a girl born and raised in North Carolina. She speaks an entirely different language!!! :>) )

Welcome back, floggers!! Congrats on the baby and med school! ECU's in a good area, you should enjoy it. Plus, you are near the coast, so if you get any time off, you can head that way!

I graduated from NCSU, so I'm not big on ECU's sports, but I do hear great things about their med school.

I going into Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Basically the specialty deals with everything from musculodystrophies and cerebral palsy in children through stroke and heart attack rehab in adults. I don't know exactly what area of the specialty I will focus on but I am really looking forward to starting my residency.
