What is the difference between the White Hot Pro 2.0 black V-Line and the White Hot RX, and which one came out first ?
I wanted a black putter and saw the Hot Pro 2.0 and thought I was getting the White Hot RX just in black, then I realized they were 2 different ones. I was testing out the RX today and liked the way it felt. Hoping I didn’t screw up and buy the wrong one/older technology.

From everything I can find, the White Hot RX will have a softer feel than the White Hot Pro. I had a couple Odysseys with the White Hot Pro insert. Thought they felt great. Have never tried the RX line so can't give you an answer from experience. The feel between one Odyssey insert and another can be virtually undetectable by many of us amateurs. Sometimes that "feel" is a combination between mental and the particular ball you are putting with. Certainly nothing wrong with the White Hot Pro. Enjoy it!!

I tried every word combination I could think of on google and could never find the info I was looking for. It’s like Odyssey doesn’t want you to know anything about older line of putters, just the NEWEST.

Thanks for your reply limpalong. I was at Golf Galaxy yesterday for about 2 hours hitting every putter they had trying to figure out length and style. I hit with putters from $50-500. I was sinking puts 10-15 feet consistently with a mallet style, and felt the white Hot RX ( did not realize it was a RX at the time ) was the best for me. Hopefully as you said that somebody like me won’t notice the insert difference between the 2. I used to play 40 years ago when I was a kid and played with my parents. When my son started to play 17 years ago I played with him and I sucked big time. When it came to long holes I actually would not even play that hole I was that bad off the tee box with driver. Had a really good short game. Now I’m going to try it again.

You still can't go wrong even if it is the previous design. My fav putters are my V-Line Pro, old white hot 2Ball CS and a white hot steel 2Ball CS.

Good to see you returning to the game!! A couple tips... It's a GAME!! Don't take the game... or yourself... too seriously. You're going to hit some really bad shots. You're going to hit some good ones. You can't go back to the bad ones, so put them out of your mind. One of the positive aspects of getting as old as I am... I can't remember the last shot!!
Try to find a copy of Pennik's "Little Red Book". Read it. Then, read it again!

Have fun! That's what it's all about!!

Always listen to limp's advice, he got Old Tom Morris started playing.

+1 on Penick's book(s)...Little Red is the most famous, he has a couple others that are very similar but still good, quick reads. The advice in those books goes well beyond the game of golf.

I reckon Harvey Pennick could have learned a thing or two from Shottalk!

    Here's my Sage advice...

    Ready?....

    Are you sure?...

It's not the putter, it's the putter!!

Read that a few times and you will work out that the piece of metal in your hands is about 5% of what putting is about. You can putt just as well with a $5 putter as a $500 putter. Yes, feel is important, but there are so many other factors such as ball played, speed of greens, swing profile etc. You can wrap yourself up in a lot of techincal stuff and suffocate yourself with doubt. Or you can grab a flat stick and just putt, put the ball in the hole!

    ^^^^^ This!!

Between my Cameron and Bettinardi, there is $500 worth of putter sitting in the basement because I have zero confidence with either anymore. Shot my age this week with a decades old stainless Anser4 which probably wouldn't sell for $20 in a used club bin.

I bought a $60 Tour Edge HP #10 (TM Spider copy) this summer and it's the best I've used. It's way better then the TM Spider I used to have.

This is the putter I use. I love it except when it misses putts.

For a while I was gaming an old (1980s) Tommy Armor blade that I got in a yard sale for $2 and that thing feels super sweet. I need to put a new shaft and grip on it and then It'll likely be back in the bag.

$0 in it. Think it'll remain in the basement until the Anser hiccups. The Betti is still the best feeling putter I've ever owned. But, it has some attitude issues, remarkably similar to a ditzy blonde. Beauty beyond compare. She can be a sweetheart and tempt you to keep her with you. About the time you do, she will go bonkers and have zero idea what her purpose is! Hopefully, one of these days she will mature enough to, at least, show some respect while on the golf course!
