I'm about to purchase my CG4s.
There is a used set at Global golf for 214 dollars, but no picks of it.

there is a brand new set on E-bay for a 180 dollars more.

Should I spend the extra cash, and go with the new set?
Thats what I'm leaning towards, but a 180 bucks, is well....a 180 bucks.

The experience most people on here have had with Global Golf is that:

1 - the customer service is excellent, including asking any questions you might have

2 - the are generally very cautious on their grading system and the clubs you get are usually in much better condition than their grading would suggest.

That's certainly been my experience. Do they have a returns policy, so you can buy from them and if they're not what you expected when they arrive you can send them back? CG4s are universally going for $399 new it now seems, so you should still be able to get a new set if you go with GG first to see what you get.

EDIT - just looked at the clubs, and the pic on there is of the actual club they will sell you. They have a 1 star 'fair' grading which will probably mean they'll be just like a set of used clubs that have had moderate use for a season or so, if not slightly better. The 3 star club I bought from them had one minor burnished mark on the back, otherwise it looked like it had never been hit.

I'd put my faith in Global Golf, and if you get them anywhere else, from a local retailer.

TGFN: (We've got to find someway to abbreviate you!!)

I recently bought a used Titleist Vokey wedge from GG. Their 'quality rating' was very conservative and the wedge was virtually new when it arrived.

Very satisfied with them.

I've been thinking that myself..It seems a bit long.
Can you change it to TN-Golfnut for me, or would I have to do that?

Will you ever use the 3i though? Even on a forum like this with some great players I'm not sure what percentage still carry a 3i anyway. Lots of new sets are coming out with 4 - GW sets because so few people are carry 3 or even 4 irons in their bags now.

If it comes to it, get the 4 - PW set, then go back Globalgolf and buy the Cleveland Halo 19* and 22* hybrids with the money you'll be saving!

Yeah, that mostly depends on whether you would use the 3 or not.

I flipped a coin.
I bought the used set from GG.

With the 80 dollar savings, now I'm looking at a new sand wedge.

I also ordered it 3 day UPS, this way the better half will be at work while the delivery comes.

Now to figure out to hide the Visa bill.:dead:

Wow, the new guy is already in on some of the early stages of Ho'in tricks. Time the shipping to arrive when the spouse is not home. :D

Sounds like a good deal, enjoy the new clubs.
