If anyone is interested I organised a championship on another forum here in Aus for 4 official days and one unofficial day of golf in Melbourne. Here is some of the fun and frivolity that ensued.
A few guys got in early on the Thursday, so we played Kingswood Golf Club as a warm-up:
Here's me, hitting the ceremonial first tee shot, a la The Masters
It was a dirty pull-hook that went about 200 yards and never got above nipple height, finishing in a bunker. Still made easy par though.
We then got into the official stuff on Friday at Southern Golf Club with a head to head battle that you guys should love; The Union Vs The Confederacy! Basically it was Australia's northern states (Queensland and New South Wales) Vs the rest.
Here's the two captains (myself in Confederate red) on the first tee:
