If anyone is interested I organised a championship on another forum here in Aus for 4 official days and one unofficial day of golf in Melbourne. Here is some of the fun and frivolity that ensued.

A few guys got in early on the Thursday, so we played Kingswood Golf Club as a warm-up:

It was a dirty pull-hook that went about 200 yards and never got above nipple height, finishing in a bunker. Still made easy par though.

We then got into the official stuff on Friday at Southern Golf Club with a head to head battle that you guys should love; The Union Vs The Confederacy! Basically it was Australia's northern states (Queensland and New South Wales) Vs the rest.

For the record the South won 6.5 - 5.5 after looking severely beaten at 9 holes.

I celebrated this win by drinking a bottle of home made Ouzo and vomiting all over the balcony of the hotel, followed by sleeping on the tiles outside until 7AM the next morning.

Which brings me to Saturday at St Andrews Beach:

My drive off the first was severely impeded by one of the worst hangovers ever created. It finished in the tree line on the right, just past the bunker:

But overall it was a spectacular course:

We moved onto Moonah Links on Sunday:

But we had to declare a winner, who received a beautiful hand-crafted shield (made by one of the participants):

Finally we finished with Spring Valley Golf Club on Monday:

The tenth, only 140 yards but certain death on all sides. This pic makes it look easier than it is:

Playing my 3rd to the par 5 7th. What you can't see is my heels dangling precariously over a bunker. Nearly fell in twice taking my stance!

Riding home the putt for a 3 under back side. It just slides under the cup. Pity about the 6 over front side. :-(

The 4th. 210 yards of fun. Don't miss right. Or left. Or long. Shorts not much fun either.

I think this was the 8th. Still VERY hungover at this stage and had just birdied 7 to virtually double my stableford score from 4 points to 7. Just wanted somewhere to sleep that wasn't made of porcelain like my previous 6 hours sleep.

This is 9. Missed front left and had the horrible chip in the hills posted before.

Sweet few days golfing lad! Wardrobes suspect all round though. Looks like a 1970s New York Pimps Gala!! And you win the Big Bird Trophy!

This is 13 I think. Birdied this too. Maybe I'm not so bad hungover.

On to Sunday at Moonah Links. Not sure what makes them the home of Aus golf considering the course is only 10 years old.

The NAGA outfit consisted of purple hat, sun sleeves and belt

This outfit was titled "Racing Lavender"

The 4th hole. Big risk reward. Lay up right of the bunkers for 160 yards and a horrible angle or bomb it left of the pots onto skinny fairway for 120 yards or less and an easy approach. Great hole.

Our tournament winner. Topped a drive short of the ladies tees and still had 42 points! Did shout a jug though, an Aussie custom.

Too tired for photos on Monday, but my Rickie Fowler inspired outfit got a special mention.
