So I played this tournament on Saturday. It wasn't a typical scramble, it was a step aside scramble. This was a 3 man scramble.

Basically everyone tees off, then the team chooses the best shot. Whichever shot you use that player "steps aside" and the other 2 players hit from there. That format continues until the ball is holed.

The 2 guys I played with were beginners. We shot a 99. A Ninety Nine!

I didn't get to hit an approach shot until the 14th hole and we didn't manage a single birdie. It was a rough day!

Never heard of that format, but it sounds interesting.

What was the winning score?

I was so frustrated at the beginning. I'd hit a good drive, they'd duff the second shot, I'd get us on the green, they'd miss the putt and then one of us would knock it in. Bogey was like a par and par was like a birdie.
