When we lived in Vegas we'd often eat the buffet at Sunset Station. They also have (had?) a killer cajun place inside.

On Wednesdays we'd get 10-cent wings at some dive casino on Boulder Highway. Best wings I've ever had.

There was another divey casino on Sunset that has since been torn down that served 99-cent steak and eggs 24 hours a day. It was actually pretty decent food, and for a buck it fit our budget nicely.

I discovered my love for sandwiches at Capriotti's. I think they are originally from Delaware but they had several locations around the valley. I once watched my friend eat an entire 20 inch sub.

That was 15 years ago but I still have friends there, so if anyone is going there and wants a local's advice let me know.

tl;dr: the strip is for suckers.

Meh, the strip is sweet, sure it's expensive, and touristy, but I'd rather spend 5 hours walking the strip than 5 hours walking most other streets in America as far as pure entertainment is concerned.

Walking the strip helps mitigate all the beer calories.

I see there's one in Louisville in March. Sending it to the boy. He loves these kind of things. The tougher the better!

BTW, I saw Van Hagar and later saw Sammy solo after he left VH. His solo show was 10x better.

Fun fact - I've never been to a concert outside of peaking into the county fair show when Foreigner was there.

Too many people, most of them idiots. No thanks.

I've been at bars with live music. It's fine...got nothing against live music.

I couldn't possibly think of a worse place to be than Woodstock though....if I go to hell, that's what my hell will be.

    Who'm I kidding...I'm definitely going to hell.

We got my son an acoustic guitar with a plug-in amp for Christmas. He planning on playing gigs in the new year, while he studies music in Glasgow University. He's now got a play-list of 28 songs and played most of them for us on Christmas Day when all the family were there (his first "unofficial gig"). He's getting really good. I must try and record some stuff, he's even written a few pieces!

    Live music is cool!
