You and my friend Steve would get along famously. He's a retired firefighter and just does woodworking. He's made $8k slab doors, a table for Oprah, and (most famously) my basement bar. I'll get some pics up and describe the history later.

I think you should start a new thread for your woodworking. It's gorgeous stuff and deserves its own thread.

Thanks man. It means a lot. I could start a thread but I hate to he the only participant.

Your friend made a table for Oprah?? That's super cool! Saying we would get along is like saying I would get along with some dude on the PGA Tour because we both like golf. I'm just a journeyman.

So, I have to stop all of my projects and make a wedding gift. I think I'll copy this idea and make these wine holders for their new house. You guys like the design?

So I asked the same question to a friend of mine and he loved the design so much that he asked if I would make him 2 sets of these, no matter the cost. I refused money, because he is one of the few friends I have. So get this, he said he will just give me a gift in return instead.....

Grip still has the plastic on it.

I've always drooled over this putter and he knew how much I liked it.

Beauty can be found in wood or metal. That putter is no match for the art you turn out with wood... but it's a close second!!!

Thank you. It means a lot to get positive feedback on things I've made. Your kind words are extremely encouraging.

Although, getting such a huge compliment has made my head swell so much I'm going to need to buy a new motorcycle helmet now!

I'm counting 7 bottles of wine there. Yeah, yeah, I appreciate that it is beautiful and everything, but it wouldn't sell in Ireland due to the low volume storage potential. You would need to stack a few more layers on there to make it a seller over here. Also throw a few hooks to hang potatoes and cabbages on. Just saying!

I'm assuming the Guinness doesn't stay around long enough to be stored.

A guy on a cigar forum, back in the day, made cigar ashtrays out of tree stumps. He would route out the middle for the ashtray area, route cigar holders running from the edge to the tray with a slope in them towards the ashtray...really beautiful work once it was finished. One of those I should've deals, but never bought one. Wood working is a great skill, and you have mad skills!! ;)

I just saw video of the snow version of a haboob that happened in Utah.

I lived in Cedar City for one semester of college. When I had to dig my truck out of the parking lot with a snowboard in October, I knew it was time to GTFO.
