There’s some pushback happening about the ball hullabaloo.

Interesting that 17 years ago Hank Khuene had the highest average on the list. How does the tour average growth look from 2003 to now?

I’d be curious to see how many wins each of those players had that year. Besides Rory and DJ I’d bet they didn’t have any. Maybe Bubba.

I’m not sure how to feel on this one. Scores are what they are, these guys are good-like really good.

Sports change, equipment gets better in all sports, players get better.

I can see the argument that some courses are obsolete, but that being said they are only obsolete if they don’t grow the rough up and narrow the fairways. Harbor Town is still on the schedule and that’s short by modern day standards. I don’t recall the scores being super low there.

There are other ways to negate distance than simply continually adding length to courses

I say let the boys play! They're pros, they're supposed to hit it longer than us and score better than us. Penalize them for errant shots, but leave the equipment alone.

Did you look up the actual things he posted?

IMO, this is an over-reaction. Homophobic? No. Idiotic to post as a professional golfer? Yeah. So if people want to hang him, go for it, but the word homophobic is being thrown around pretty loosely here.

Stupidity on his part in a world where stupidity on social media seems to be the norm. Certainly, he had the right to express his opinion about a disproven conspiracy theory and to make denigrating comments about a person's sexual orientation. Acushnet and the clothing manufacturer, J. Lindeberg, had a similar right to say they did not approve of his comments and cancel his endorsement contracts. People in the public limelight need to refrain from such comments or be prepared to suffer the consequences. In this case, he will probably be picked up by another club sponsor and others. Personally, I applaud Acushnet and Lindeberg. Go play golf! We have entirely too much hate and discord in our society. You are a professional golfer making some pretty remarkable coin while playing a game. To make derogatory comments about another person... comments about a situation that in no way affects you... and to support ridiculous conspiracy theories is a black eye on the companies paying you a good sum of money. Those companies simply felt the potential damage to their credibility in the marketplace was not worth trying to defend someone's social media comments.

Can you post the text where he agrees with the text in the image he posted?

I don't see anywhere that he wrote that he supported the Qanon theory. He posted a picture of someone else's tweet. IMO, that's not support. That's posting a picture.

If I post a picture on Instagram of something ridiculous Hillary Clinton posted on her Twitter, does that mean I support her? No. Same thing here.

I don’t buy into the whole “phobic” name calling. It nearly always comes from one side of politics and is used as a tool to silence others. People are entitled to their beliefs. The Orwellian thought police can fvck off.

I saw what he “retweeted” and I didn’t find it to be as bad as some of what I was reading made it out to be. In poor taste? Maybe. Not sure it rises to the level of homophobic but everybody will certainly have an opinion on that.

I’ve certainly seen worse things posted about Trump, Clinton, Obama, bush and many more. And yeah his sponsors can dump him and did.

This is the world we live in now, that we’ve created for ourselves.

Herm Edwards probably had the best advice for social media when he said “don’t press send”

I did. And for the record I am not calling him a homophobe, I called him a dipshit for doing something dipshits do.
