As some may have noticed, I haven't been posting scores the past few days. Had a minor "event" Sunday afternoon. Resulted in a nice comfy ride in an ambulance with blaring sirens. Beautiful young EMT stabbing me with an IV. Delivered to the ER, where I spent about the next 6 to 8 hours before being transferred to ICU. Released yesterday, Tuesday, afternoon and am back home. Cardiologist thinks it was a "heart event", but can't seem to pinpoint it even after yesterday morning's heart cath. They have move pictures of my chest and head than relatives have of me! 40% blockage in one area but not enough to require a stint. Doc appointment on Monday for further consult. I plan on returning to play on Tuesday. The "new" method for heart cath is via a wrist artery rather than groin. Much more comfortable. But... they said I had to wait 7 days before lifting 10 pounds to keep from blowing out the artery and spraying the living room walls.
Feel good. Drove out to the course twice today. Just walked up to the neighbor's home. Tire quickly due to being kept flat on my back for 48 hours. And... most of that time was NOP... nothing by mouth. No coffee!!!! ER and ICU staff was awesome!!! Really impressed with the attitude and their attention.
We are so blessed to live in a time where miracles of modern medical technology happen every day.

Limp, my long winded golf brother, get back out on the course! As soon as the docs say it's OK anyway.

In the past, whenever I had the need of a nurse it always seemed as if I got the most "rotund"... and angry... of the litter. This time, I was blessed with some of the most professional, attentive, and pleasant ladies. When we were rolling along in the ambulance, I told the female EMT that as smooth as the ride was we must not have a lady driver. Now... I suppose when your life is in their hands and she is the one poking an IV in your arm... you shouldn't make "lady driver" jokes. She replied, "No! I'm the only female in here and by far the hottest looking!" I heard two "Boo's" from a couple of the male EMT's. Everyone had a good laugh and I enjoyed the ability for a crew to joke and have fun... as a team! And... this young lady, probably young enough to be a granddaughter of mine, was VERY attractive!
The worst/best was when they were getting ready to take me for the heart cath. I was already relieved this would be done "radially".... through the wrist and not the groin. This 5'11" blonde nurse walks into the room and tells me she will be my cath nurse. Again, very attractive. Tells me she's been a cath tech nurse for 21 years and I ask if she started when she was 10 years old!! She asks if I have underwear on. I reply I do. She says, "Can you strip them off, or do I need to? I have some shaving to do!" I tell her I thought they were going through the wrist and not the groin. She says they have to have the groin prepped in case the artery in the wrist won't let them in. Sheesh! Of course, in her over 20 years of nursing, she's seen the "long and short" of it all!
These ER and ICU nurses live in a demanding, stressful, high burn-out career field. So glad they are there. I learned kids names, husbands occupations, career goals, etc. Just had some excellent conversation and never felt for one moment that any one of them was not a highly trained professional. We are so blessed to live in a community where this entire facility is only about 1 mile from the house.

The only time I ever saw my dad in a hospital he looked at me and, in not so PC terms, told me although he does't think he should be in the hospital for a little heart attack....the nurses were fire ass hot, so at least he had that going for him.

Limp, glad to see you’re on the mend. We need you around here to keep putting those ice bound Wisconsinites to shame with your rain-hail-or-shine golfing.

Point? Plenty of species become extinct. It’s the great con of the eco warriors to expect that all species last forever.

Look after your mental health people. Something that’s not being addressed. Too much hysteria in the main stream media and sneering “stay the fvck home” abuse on social media. It’s apparent to me that there will be mental health fallout in the wake of the waves of self righteous sneering and lecturing in both forms of media.

This hysteria has probably done more damage to society than this virus was ever going to do by itself.
