$1.59 here. But, our town is higher than anywhere else in 100 mile radius. You can buy it as low as $1.09 in our state. Most in the vicinity are around $1.39. Our gas is, and always has been, higher than anyone else. We have a state university and a military installation. The fuel suppliers have always felt they could gouge since they have what amounts to a captive audience. In the 1960's gas wars saw it lower than 19 cents/gallon throughout the state. I don't think anyone in our community ever got below about 25 cents.
We are running up Kroger fuel points faster than we use them. Just got an email from Kroger saying they would allow April points to carry over until the end of May. We will easily have $1.00/gallon in fuel points the next time I need gas in the truck. I just filled my wife's car a couple weeks ago. I think she drove it two blocks since. It's a 2015 and she just turned over 20,000 miles. Those 20,000 include two trips to Minnesota, one to Cheyenne, one to Georgia, one to Louisiana, and at least two to Kentucky. When she was still working, her office was 4 blocks from the house. Now that she's retired, her only "important" trip was her ladies group Monday morning coffee. That's not happening since the stay-at-home order.

Damn gas prices have almost doubled in a couple of weeks, sitting between $1.64-1.79 around here now.

Most I have ever paid was in Ireland in 2011 it worked out to just over $9 US a gallon, glad I was driving a car that was getting 45-50 mpg at the time.

The morning police report shows a 25 year old arrested for this. "Attempted driving while suspended. First conviction. Bond $500." The 'attempted driving' caught my eye. You are either driving or not. Was he extremely intoxicated and couldn't get in the car? Was he in the car and trying to use the tire iron for an ignition key? '... attempted driving..." I may have to attempt to attempt driving some day......

Wondering whether the US based members here are okay and haven't had their homes/businesses torched. Hopefully, the answer is yes, no, no.

    Yes, no, no.

Where I live, it's not really a problem. Cuz we're generally sane people here in the sticks.

Ate in at a restaurant today. It was ******* glorious.

Took the kids out to a local pond to do some fishing. My oldest boy is ALL about fishing right now. 5 hours at the pond and didn't hear a single time how he wanted to do something else. Also glorious.

Great weekend. perfect weather. Smoked pork butt, fire, fishing every single night.

Peaceful protests in our community and others around us. Saturday had an estimated 300, here, marching along one street. Police officers blocked the street for them. No sign of armored vehicles, military like police dress, etc. Community about 70 miles east of us had over 1,000 in a peaceful march with zero looting, etc. So far, the damage has been mostly seen in large metro areas. In our smaller communities, we may have police officers living down the street, attending our churches, working with charitable organizations, etc. We also are a university town with a significant number of foreign students. And, we have an Army base next door. So, we see a very diverse population when we go to the grocery store, golf course, or department stores. We do have some nutcase idiots who are extremely anti-diversity/racist but they are a small minority.

Peaceful protests in our little town as well. However, the local Wal-Mart closed yesterday due to an impending protest. Barricaded their doors with shopping carts and pallets of topsoil/fertilizer/etc. Tough times...

Friday and Saturday Portland fell apart. It was disheartening to watch it in real time on the news. I'm in the suburbs so I didn't see it in my 'hood but man what a shitshow. On Sunday some of the cops started kneeling in solidarity and even shaking hands with the protesters so I'm thinking (hoping) this is coming to an end.

Yes, no, no. Nashville had some bad stuff over the weekend but the last few days have been peaceful protests. Like Tea we are seeing police officers walking hand in hand with protesters. Maybe we'll finally see some change.
