Depends on where we're fishing. Out in the back yard, we mainly catch either bluegill or rock bass as live bait for flathead catfish(which we don't catch many of) or we try to catch red horse suckers as cut bait for channel catfish. We also will randomly catch small mouth bass, large mouth bass, and walleyes.

At the pond I was referring to it's pretty much all small bluegill, but it's great for the kids because you can sight fish for them. Some large mouth bass but they're real picky as that pond gets hammered by guys trying to catch bass.

I'm a big fan of catching large mouth and small mouth as well as catfish. I've won the local catfish tournament the last two years. First year for 5 fish stringer which closest competitor was 12lbs behind me. Last year I won largest channel catfish by 8lbs.

My FIL has a place up by Petenwell lake and Castlerock lakes. Lots of nice Walleyes up there as well as some big catfish, crappie, bass(large, small, white, and rock), northern, muskie, even gar.

Here's a medium sized channel I caught the just the other night. It's about 10lbs(didn't weigh him, just know from experience), which is the best so far for in my back yard. I've caught them up to 17lbs in this river system.

    EDIT: For reference, I'm 5'11" and 240lbs.

Luckily it's not very humid here. Still pretty unbearable though.

I remember that from my trip to Phoenix/Scottsdale years ago. Hot but dry, so it didn't feel as hot at 90 as it does here.
