The build-up is now in full swing, the 148th Open Championship will be held at Royal Portrush is just over 6 weeks time. We live ~3miles from the course and the excitement is palpable. We managed to get tickets for Thursday, which I am happy about. I figure that Sunday will be nuts. I'm probably going to take a few days off. My middle son and FiL are both marshaling, my eldest is "hosting" in a hospitality marquee. We are due to get deluged by ~250K people over 2 weeks. I imagine all the restaurants, bars in the area will be rammed!

I will keep you guys up t speed with developments, photos etc. I'm kinda waiting for a call from Tiger to see if he fancies a quick 9 holes, when he arrives. I figure he'll be looking a few shots!

He hasn't requested to stay at your home while he's there?

It's funny that I was thinking the same thing, but not just for Tiger, for anyone. Hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, etc, are going to price gouge everyone so this would be Mark's chance to cash in. :D

Both my SiL's have rented their houses to people working at the Open. One for $8K and the other for $10K. Luckily we are so minted we don't need to do that. ;) In actual fact, if we had made the effort, we could have gotten something similar, but the fact that we are going for a day means we need somewhere to stay that week anyway. Both of my sons are working all week as well. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to miss that $$$ boat.
