I didn't take many pics this year but I have some good stories.

As you may remember (or not) I'm a fan of Rob Oppenheim. He was in contention going into the weekend which was great for us. My Saturday shift ended right as he was teeing off so we got to follow him around. My friend played in the pro-am with him in 2015 and he's a huge, loud, obnoxious (basically the opposite of what a golfer/spectator should be) baseball guy pictured below. Apparently he doesn't know how a hat and/or sunglasses work. Anyhow, he wound up befriending some dudes who were following along and they cheered so hard for Rob he was laughing the whole way around.

Rob is very cool, interacts with the gallery, thanks people, etc... very easy to like. We got to 14 and Rob made a crazy long chip for birdie and we went nuts! Turns out it made the highlight reel (#2). Right after that on the 15th tee Rob turns to us and asks if we're thirsty and proceeds to grab two armfuls of water bottles from the player's cooler and hands them out to us. Like I said, easy to like.

Clint, Rob, and myself after the tournament.

Stayed for the 25 presentation this year where they give the top 25 money leaders their PGA Tour cards for next year.

When it was all said and done I had walked over 16 miles, drank probably 20 beers, 2 vodka-sodas, 2 Pendletons on the rocks, and ate more food than I do in a week (they basically thank us with tons of free food). Already looking forward to next year.

Nice. I caddied for his father once or twice at a local country club back in the 80’s, nice family all around.

Well shit. Thanks to Coronavirus they are eliminating the 18th hole suites, which means eliminating my position. They still want us to do another position but man, I don't think I want to do anything they've listed. Sanitizing the volunteer tent? Nah. Marshall? Been there done that, pass. The only thing I would consider is working the driving range, but I don't think I will.

Looks like I'm going to skip volunteering for the first time in six years. :(

You could lick the range balls clean!?
I say do it! Marshaling is the best gig as there is always something going on.

I've marshalled before, I don't like it. I know the PGA Tour is making players scoop their own range balls so I imagine the Nike, I mean Nationwide, I mean Web.com, I mean the Korn Ferry Tour will as well.
