Tight Spot 3 arrow quiver for my bow and a new release. My original release broke a spring...so I have to send it in for warranty repair...needed one for while that one's gone.

The only thing I buy for golf anymore is golf balls. Those plastic tees I got are holding up very well. I've only lost 5 or 6...I've played 3 rounds with my current one, all the paint is worn off of it. That box of 50 is probably going to last me a while.
If I still shot archery the only ones I would be interested in are those $100-$200 target thumb jobs. Used to use a "failsafe" thumb release. Cheap and you could set it hair trigger.

This was the best release ever made and sold for $25. I used to sell them in my archery shop.

Turns out I effed up my left thumb a few weeks ago. The injury is called De Quervain's Tenosynovitis.

Brace for a few weeks, unless I'm playing golf (doc advised against playing but what the hell does he know). Keeps the thumb immobilized. Could clear up, could not.

If it doesn't heal I'll have offseason surgery in the winter.
1.) What the heck did you do to screw up the thumb?? Was it something "dumb"? Is there a story we could spice up Shot Talk with? The "need to know" is outta this world!!! No HIPPA, here!
2.) Doctors pay millions in insurance premiums so err on the side of safety and making certain everything is well healed. And, if they insist that you keep coming back for them to check how well it's healing... that means more office visits they can bill insurance for. I like doctors! They have put me to sleep, cut on me, and fixed many an injury. However, if it's honey-do jobs... I increase their recommendations for heal-time by at least twice. If it's for golf... the heal-time is cut by 1/2 to 2/3. Surely that makes it even out so nothing goes wrong!!!

I really have no idea how I hurt it. No great story, started hurting a week or so ago and has steadily gotten worse. Kinda sucks. A lot.

I shoot a hinge release for spots games. I want to get a thumb release for hunting, but at the moment, I'm sticking with what I've shot for the last 3 years which is a wrist style strap release. After this year of hunting, I'm going to sell my two wrist releases and buy a thumb release so I have enough time before next hunting season to get good with it. I think I'm going to get the Scott Exxus Core because it's identical in the hand as my hinge release which I love, except it's a thumb.
