Didn't get to play, yesterday, and it was a perfect day. Was tied up all day assisting a neighbor across the street with some legal issues with his home. Just went through my "book" and only had 14 rounds... not 15. Still, not bad for Kansas.
Heading out to play today. Weather should let us play today, Sunday, and Monday before some snow comes in. If we can play the first three days of February, that's a plus. Sunday is an anomaly. We are supposed to be only 3 to 5 degrees cooler than the Super Bowl field in Miami. Monday, 4 a.m. is predicted to be 51 degrees. 4 p.m., Monday... 31 degrees. Snow by late Monday evening. That's the Kansas we know and love. All four seasons... in 24 hours.

Unbelievable! Parking lot at the course is packed... on February 2nd in Kansas!! It's now 1 p.m. and 69 degrees F. We had a short frost delay this morning and the clubhouse was packed before they let us go. We, as usual, were first off. 79 today and won another $2.00. Supposed to have one more good day before winter rears its ugly head again.

33 degrees lower temperature at noon today than noon yesterday. Plus... 15 mph north wind. Wind chills in the low 20's. The front nine went pretty well. 38, two over. By the turn, the cold was beginning to take effect. Each time you stepped out of the cart, the cold north wind seemed like a knife. Ballooned to a 43 on the back. Should never complain about an 81, especially when playing golf the first three days of February.

45 degrees with sunshine and zero wind. Beautiful day for golf. Course reopened about 11:30 a.m. after being closed the past couple of days. 39/41 for an 80. Was cruising along and then played the last 4 holes, 4 over. Could have been much better than the 80 I ended up with.

A whopping 86 today in 30mph winds gusting over 40. I'm a lousy wind player.

In Texas a few years ago, I hit a 2 hybrid 280 yards, downwind. That ball never got more than 20 feet in the air and went 40 yards over the green. Only stopped when it hit a wall.

Cold wind this morning. Tough round. 84. Still, as much as we're playing in January/February is a blessing.

17 degrees F when I got up this morning. By 10:30, frost was gone and it was in the low 40's. Sun was out and a beautiful day for golf. Just can't hold a round together, right now. 38 on the front and 43 on the back. Short game from 50 yards in stinks!!!

Okay weather on the front nine. North wind kicked up on the back and had to bring the stocking hat and gloves out. Still carded a 78 for the round. Sure do like this putter.

Would think someone with your engineering background could design a canopy over one of your local golf courses, constructed of your old drivers. Surely, you have had enough drivers to cover at least 9 holes!!!:D

We've played a lot more in January/February than typical. Hopefully, that means we will be light on moisture this coming Spring. Our water table is still awfully high after last year's flooding. This week doesn't look too good for golf, as we have single digit and teen wind chills predicted for a couple days.

Went to golf course this morning. Rest of geezer group was otherwise occupied today. Ended up in a 2-hour discussion with staff and another board member. Very productive but missed a nice day for golf. Oh well, it's not like I haven't played much lately.
