Shot a 78 on Saturday in stiff conditions off the back-markers. I was out at 7am and the wind got stronger as the day went on. Surprisingly I finished ~5th from about 150 golfers, just outside the prizes. Finished +1, +2 and par for the last three holes. A stronger finish would have got me a dust collector! :(

Still, I'm hitting it well! What is it the pros say? I just gotta stay patient, I'm putting myself in the right position blah, blah blah!!

I turned a 77 into an 80 today with a tidy little triple bogey on 18.

Geez, it snowed 21 inches up here over 3 days and now it's snowing again. I would think there would be more people in here talking about their golfing down where you can golf.

I guess we are just spoiled here in SoCal...been here my whole life, and been playing 36-54 holes a week for decades...we rained out a few weeks ago with all that Santa Barbara mudslide unpleasantness...but I bet we pay higher green fees than you seasonal guys - weekend muni rates in LA are near 60 and this is always a 5 hour (sometimes more) round...

Been traveling since last Thursday. No golf. Should be back home late Friday afternoon. Supposed to rain all day Saturday. Unless it's pouring, I'll be out there.
Got texts during our drive and now committed to teach on Tuesday and Thursday. Still should be able to play four or five days out of the next week.
Been seeing guys in our geezer group texting back and forth. Too cold the past couple of days to play at home. GREAT! If'n I cain't play, them old guys need to sit it out too!!!:D
Still contemplating giving up this substitute teaching. I REALLY NEED to get back to playing golf 7 days/week!!!!!

I played a knock-out match last night. It was sunny and warm but we had ~40mph winds plus gusts! That's about as windy as anything I have ever played in. Our greens have been recently punched and top dressed so they were really slow, otherwise the balls would have been blowing off the greens. It was tough standing up on some of the raised tees, let along hitting a shot. My opponent was a 68-year-old 19 h/c. It was a brutal game of survival.

He conceded about 6 holes from the tee. We didn't half a hole until 13! I sneaked a win, mainly down to keeping the ball in play, but man, I felt exhausted afterwards. :(

Hadn't played for 8 days as we were traveling. My golf withdrawl symptoms were becoming unbearable. Light, cold rain this morning. Not enough to get soaked. Of course had a cart with doors and pull-down cover for the club bags. Finally talked my golf buddy into playing. Found I need to take more time off and play more in the rain! The front saw 7 pars and 2 bogeys... 38! We flipped a coin at the turn and I lost. Only 9 this morning. Hopefully, will get a full round in tomorrow.
