If/when we ever meet, you're getting a Gibbs style smack to the head. I'll buy you a beer afterwards, but you're getting one.

00/00. Went out to the range with confidence this morning and was about to play an enjoyable round, or I thought I was. CLANK! First ball shanked hard right. Followed by dozens more. The few I actually hit square lost about 30 yards from my norm (mid irons). Walked back in the pro shop and asked for a rain check on a clear day. I'm a regular there so they had no problem, I didn't want to play and make someone else's round less enjoyable because I was upset. Why does this always happen right when I feel things are coming together!?

It happens! Golf can be the most frustrating means of enjoyment known to man. The saying, "A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work", was authored due to the number of bad days we all see on the course. Just about the time we feel we've got this game to where we can sit back and enjoy it... it'll kick you square in the groin!!! And, we go back for more....
The past 4 weeks, I've played worse golf than I have in the past 4 years. My game just totally fell apart. This past Sunday, I continued my frustration as I carded a 46 on the front. My cart partner told me, "You are trying way too hard to overcome whatever has you by the nuts. Just forget about it and have fun!" I took his advice and just walked up to the ball and hit it. Carded a 40 on the back!!! A couple of short missed putts and it could have easily been a 37 or 38.
The toughest yardage on any golf course is the 5 1/2" between your ears. Put your shanks out of your mind. Go play golf. Go have fun!!!

i played Sunday and i could not play for sh!t off the beautifull fairways, instead of trying to think to much i started playing a "nice" fade which saw me playing out of the rough 90% of the time (2nd shot out of the rough, after the drive/fade) but that was fun, hit whatever club i had in my hands perfectly and straight to greens.

my chip shots were on the money and my putting was not too shabby either....still did not card a good round but i did have a lot of fun. specially when my playing partners asked me after the tee off what i'm doing on the fairway!:D

First post here in a year or so. Probably because it's the first time this year I've managed to get out and play. I think I went the entire month of January without even picking up a golf club.

Went out without a practice round or a bucket of bulls beforehand and fired off a 71. On a par 3. Drove the only par 4 (279 yards) the one time the 3 wood came out to play. Missed almost every other green though. I was spraying my irons, big time. But the putter worked... for once.

Took the girl out today to play. We played rock river in Horicon, Wi. Fun course. I took out my set of TD TP Taylor Mades 1-pw with Cleveland 52, 56,60 wedges. Her last 18 out was a 137... today, 120 and we walked. ... The hell was I thinking? I let her hit my 2 iron, and she struck it well. I love the feeling of puring a 1 iron off the tee. All in all long day, but had a good time with my girlfriend. Going to play the Irish Course on Monday. Need to practice. Can't show up out there like no scrub.

Yep. Had a little too much fun with the golf cart too, in the morning dew. You know, drifting and such.
